No swap, Glazer's apparently have Nike negotiating on their behalf in trying to secure messi. Glazers are very focused on man united brand offsetting the lost of fergie and they believe that with the signing of ronaldo and securing messi will allow this to happen.

The 27-year-old ex-Everton forward told United boss Sir Alex Ferguson two weeks ago he felt the time was right to move after nine years at the club.

A spokesman for United would only say: "Wayne Rooney is not for sale."

Wonder if he's happy about Moyles being his manager again.

The timing of this seems strange. He's given every indication recently he was happy to continue. In addition, he's always spoken of leaving the squad in a good position and it's something of a mess at present. Scholes will likely go with him, I wouldn't be shocked if Giggs did too. Rio is going season to season, Nani's been frozen out, Fletcher is Fletcher and both Rooney and possibly Anderson wish to leave. Add to that the arrival of Zaha who he now wont work with, plus the existing issues with certain key positions and SAF has left his successor with a mammoth task.

I can only guess something has happened health wise to prompt this. Either that or the availability of Jose, although that seems to not be the case.

I can't see Man Utd spending £100s of Millions on buying Ronaldo & Messi. I don't think they would see much of a return.
