As with any of the top sides, I hope your new manager fails spectacularly! Chances are quite high for this one I think.

I think you are going to be wrong, if they back him with money I think they will still keep winning things. I don't think with Fergie they would have won the league next year anyway, if the changes at Chelsea and City come about.

The crux of what Kenwright said... his blubbering was making me not concentrate on typing.

Interviewer: “For Everton fans who are feeling a little bit upset about his departure what do you want to say to them?”

Kenwright: “Like me, haha… it’s my job and the clubs job to find a worthy successor to build on what David did for the football club… it’s been an extraordinary 24 hours not one that I was expecting… important we finish off the season and maintain our position… important we continue the David Moyes tradition, the Everton Football Club tradition… we really will, we really will be out there looking for the right man for this job… 11 years ago I made a decision and it was an instant decision, I don’t think that can happen this time, we have to be serious out there looking, and we will be, looking for the candidate who the club deserves…

Interviewer: “Have you got anyone in mind?”

Kenwright: “No no, really no… it’s been a year now since me and David sat down to plan for this season and next season. I seriously hoped he would be the manager for next season… Everton supporters are no fools, they took to David Moyes instantly… I’ll be looking to those supporters to, well not get individual mans but the kind of guidance fans and true football fans can give… they want the adventure to continue and continue to grow… I don’t want Everton fans let down.”

Isn't there a better chance of Rooney staying now given that he worked with Moyes at Everton (I think)?

Do fans want Rooney to stay?

I personally couldn't care less if Rooney stays. He's held the club to ransom in the past for a better deal and I'm getting sick of his money-grabbing nature. I'm convinced he's just after another wage increase and I'm tired of it. No player is bigger than the club, and most players who have left United have faded not grown (Ronaldo being the major exception).

If PSG or someone similar want to offer us silly money, I really wouldn't be bothered if he left.

Anyone see Marouane Fellaini 's Twitter Bio:

"Official twitter of Marouane Fellaini, Belgian football player, Everton FC, Red Devils"

They may not win the league next season but who knows, they didn't think they will win it this season but City never really showed up all season. What we do know that is based on the past 20 years, even if United didn't win the league, they will be challenging for it right up until the end and it does not cross anyone's mind that there is a chance United will finish outside the Top 3, nevermind fighting for Champion's League spot.

So the expectation is that Moyes will need to continue that tradition, maintain a challenge for the league, even if he fails to win it first time round.
