From the looks of things you have a master socket and a few extensions that you call master sockets.

The master socket will proborly have allot of wires in it, one of which goes outside, the rest to the extensions.

It goes underground?

i dont think you get more than one master socket, it'll more than likely be downstairs.

have a look out side, find where your line enters the house and your master socket should be there

I just asked my dad and he says that I am connected to a master socket and that there are two other ones in my parents bedroom and my brothers bedroom. :S

I would suspect it was fairly rare for a master socket to be in a bedroom, most I have seen have been near the front door or the entrance hallway. Ours is in a porch where the front door also is.

i dont think you get more than one master socket, it'll more than likely be downstairs

edit: I checked and none of the sockets have two parts to the face plates

If the telephone cable goes from outside, then down underground i would check the downstairs ports, i would think that bt would put it as the "closest" socket.

Most likly its one of these, keep as eye open for one like the picture I posted.

Yes should only be one master socket unless its been very badly wired up, we originally had two master sockets which was causing all kinds of issues speed wise until I resolved it

Half of them aren't even being used, my dad + mum just went to my next door neighbours house so i'd have to ask him about it

theres a maximum ren available i think around 4 maybe, id say your over that by quite a bit and its affecting your router badly, each thing connected might have the ren rating underneath

I was under the impression you had to filter every telephone socket regardless of whether its being used or not.
