Yeah, shame really. I may end up just buying an open reach modem and a router.
There's a guide here on skyuser forums: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-broadband-fibre-help/51857-sky-fibre-drayteks-3.html Posts 26 & 28.
sorry for being thick. When Sky eventually sort out my local exchange and I sort out getting Sky Fibre what is actually installed in my home?
I already use a RT-AC66U with Sky ADSL (original sky router was dreadful for wifi round my house).
Can I continue to use this?
The engineer will fit a filtered faceplate.
You can use the same router. http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/asking-help/54213-how-set-up-asus-rt-n66u-work-sky-fibre-mer.html
You might have to cough up for a standalone VDSL2 modem if Sky send you an all-in-one router for self-installation.
Stupidly just realised it's DSL-N55U router - not the n66u - does that make a difference?
You can turn one of the LAN ports into a WAN port (latest firmware is required).
Getting the router to use MER authentication will be the tricky part.

You may need to upgrade to the DSL-N66U router.
Sky's own systems just say yes or no unfortunately. I find the www.bt.com/infinity checker to be better as if it says 'no' it will often give you an estimate if it's soon.
Ok - thanks people. Damn shame as it's been superb the n55u.
