Sky Fibre Optic

Yea boiiii

While you enjoy that i'll still cry over my 6meg connection :(

I feel your pain! Mind my pings are back to normal now on uk servers infact better!!! 15ms :D better than last nights 50ms.

What I had ADSL2 my connection was about 7mb and 8mb when it was dry outside with 1mb up an a 25 to 30ms ping. I cant fault sky CS only openereach and some engineers but then again the engineers have a naff job.

I hope you get fibre soon.

I don't think i've got long to wait anyway, a new Green cab has been put behind the current cab and there has been works done around it including Western Power Distribution were messing with it

Just incase anyone is interested, Sky have matched for me the BT infinity 2 new prices ie. £20 for the sky fibre pro for 12 months.

I am acutely aware of how rubbish the sky hub is and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the BT Home Hub 5 will work with the openreach modem assuming I can extract my username and password?

It seems good for the money.

So it isn't an actual minimum throughput as expected :)

minimum line access speed is what they can guarantee so you are more that likely get the full 40. They do that to cover themselves. what my router is synced at is what I should expec the throuput to be after the overheads.

HH5 isn't compatible due to lack of MER support. Have a look at the recent Billion routers.

gutted as DLM has kicked and dropped my speed but its above the magic 36 so I'm happy only downside interleaving is on :( 30ms ping now. Lets see what happens in 7 days from now as it should balance out.

ordered sky fibre on the 29th, and got an activation date via the tracker page for my phone line (changing from BT 14th Jan), but still no email re the fibre. Is this normal?

I'm considering going back to Sky after getting out of my VM contract 6 months early due to them increasing the price.

I gave Sky 30 days notice on the 9/12/2013.

Would I be correct in assuming that to sign up as a new customer I can't do that until after 9/1/2015?

Since I would be including TV and Phone as well as Broadband, it has to be as a new customer, as I no longer have any of my Sky equipment.

Yes you would not be a new customer for a year from your leaving date I believe.

I would call up and see what they can can do. Any partner/wife that could sign up?

I want to be able to sign up online for the Qudico cashback.

When I attempted to sign up this evening I was stopped at the checkout as still being a current customer.

I couldn't proceed any further without calling Sky.

Even though I signed up in my wife's name, who's never been a Sky customer.

I'll try again after the 9th January.
