Sky Fibre Optic

so they said, anyway ...
Welcome to Sky Talk and Broadband. Your Sky Talk service should be up and running by Tuesday 26 June 2012.

Your Sky Broadband service should be up and running by Monday 25 June 2012.

To keep track of your order go to MySky and log in with your username and password.
Let's get your story started

Activating your phone line

As you already have an active line at your address, we can get this up and running without any disruption to your service during the switch. We have already contacted your existing provider on your behalf so you don't need to do anything else. Your phone service will be up and running on Tuesday 26 June 2012.

An engineer will be required to set up your Sky Broadband.

Mine went from 4.5mbit to 40mbit no problems. I'd highly recommend Sky.

Sounds like it's worth it, On the BT page it states we can get up to around 62mb/s, so hopefully if we upgrade to Sky Fibre, we should reach the full potential of 40mb/s.

In case anyone hadn't seen, and apologies for not re reading this thread, but sky have now upped the 40/2 product to 40/10 free of charge.

I'm now synced at 39997/7624 and have been since Wed.

I was one of the first on the fibre trials.on the 2nd march to have it installed.

Good news indeed!

Excuse my ignorance as I haven't looked through the whole thread,

How much extra is the 80/20 package? Or is it worth just sticking to upgrading to 40/2 (from the above post now seems 40/10)

£30 a month for pro 80/20
£20 a month for 40/10

id stick with 40/10

sky fibers looking great and still like the fact they offer true internet unshaped, but still ive noticed many here saying there speed was fast and then gone very slow....

oddly virgin bb customers experience same thing lol

We just phoned them and they wanted to charge us £20 for Fibre and £50 installation fee, so we didn't bother.

Well yes - £20 - £7.50 (Standard unlimited cost) = £12.50 difference.

The £50 is a one off charge and as far as I am aware only applicable to new customers.

I see now :p

We're an existing customer and they didn't offer us any deal, seeing as we've got everything else with them :(

I take it Sky are using BT's fibre technology?

I keep checking BT's Infinity site but it's taking its sweet time to reach here.

So Fibre has been available in my area(Rochdale) for 10-14 days via BT Infinity or Plus Net, I keep checking with Sky daily and still nothing...

Talking to live help from Sky they don't seem interested or able to give me a date when I can order.

:(
