I have to wait till 1st june now :(
Whats the movies like on sky hd is it better than dvd quality?
Anyone know if there are any plans for sky to broadcast itv hd as ive seen the ads it the newspapers saying telewest 1 sky 0. Its a shame I dont live in a cable area :confused:

The movies I've seen look pretty low bitrate so far, I've not seen anything markedly better than DVD yet, but i haven't tried Box Office.

Nobody knows yet. I'm hoping they will as it'll double the World Cup coverage but I don't know how likely it is.

nope, i think ive sorted it, the engineer set it to 1080i, i changed it to 720p,just changed it back to 1080i and it records ok now, verry odd indeed.

I was thinking and it may be a series of weird coincidences here.

AFAIK you cannot record certain preview/promo shows on some of the HD channels.

Perhaps you happened to change it and tried to record a non-blocked recordable program?

Very true - all recording on BBC HD during the preview is blocked.

I watched Commando in HD tonight and I have to say it was absolutely brilliant :D I first watched that movie aged about 8 (with heavy ITV censoring lol) and it was great to see it again in such absolute detail. It's the first HD movie I've seen that has wowed me.
 
I've had to rehost my pictures after pulling 4GB of traffic in two days. Obviously people have been hotlinking them... :(

yes the england game is in HD, so was the ireland friendly tonight, i didnt think much of the ireland picture really,better than sky sports one but not brilliant.

The Ireland game wasn't filmed in HD, just upscaled. To be HD a program has to say HD in the infobar ;)

BTW - how did you record the BBC Preview?

Good, thought it looked a bit pants.

I recorded the bbc preview by setting the manual timer :)
 
Looks awesome even when taken on a camera which I'm sure doesn't show it justice!
