Sky Stream - Launches *NOW* (post #1 for pricing / page #5 for pics)

I did that once when I was 18 I got sky installed. Had it on a 12 month contract. Cancelled after contract ran out and swore I would NEVER ever buy another package like that again.

It's just insane. I don't see how anybody could find the value in that with the amount of streaming services that are available!

I'm trying to convince the parents to cancel SkyQ and just go with Freesat

Premier league football and F1 is pretty much the only reason I'm paying for sky...and only due to account sharing with parents so we go 50/50

I know there are ways to get F1 through F1 TV, but unsure about the football?

We pay £67 a month for Sky Q with an extra mini box and Netflix included.

Went to Sky online, logged in, went to Sky stream and it just says session timed out.

Called them up - They offered a massive £6 per month discount  for our Sky Q (Entertainment, Netflix, multiscreen)

Or the equivalent Sky Stream for £57 a month, but you can't record anything obviously.

Insane money to watch TV.

I don't think sky dishes are compatible with freesat now are they? You used to need a hybrid LNB and Sky stopped offering them.

Freesat 4k boxes are compatible with SkyQ LNB

I signed up for Sky Stream this morning because they are offering the first month free. I want to see if it is worth getting for Sky Sports as I miss being able to watch cricket. I'll see. It is expensive, but I'll only sign up for the 30-day contract so I can cancel when I want.

I spent all day trying to do the same only to keep being greeted with a "technical issue" message when I got so far. I eventually figured it was because I was using an email address I used when I had Sky 7 years ago so used another email address and eventually got it to work. However, the order that has come through to me isn't what I placed on the website. I ordered Sky Stream (18m), Sports (31d), Movies (18m) and Netflix Standard. The order I received only had Sky Ultimate TV - Sky Entertainment with Netflix on a 31 day contract with the first month free. Tried calling them earlier but had a nightmare getting anywhere and eventually when I did, it said the department I need to talk to is closed.

Also, it states on the website that orders placed before 9pm are delivered the next day. I'm being told Monday which is no good as I'll miss the F1 on Sunday (the only reason I'm getting Sky Sports).

Hmm. Strange. I just signed up for the Sky Entertainment and Netflix deal for one month and got the Sky Stream puck on Thursday morning.

I plugged it in and updated and it seems to be working. I will sign up for Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and ad-free soon.

This is a very stupid question, but where do you find on-demand content on Sky Stream? I have Sky Sports and want to watch the highlights of today's cricket, but I can't watch it live. I thought you could record on your computer using the Sky Go app, but I can't see the option.

If I can't download it on my computer, will I be able to watch it tomorrow?

This looks pretty reasonable - £50 on an 18 month contract for entertainment, Netflix HD, and sport. It would replace my Netflix sub (£10 a month), my Eurosport sub (£7 a month, used for tennis!), and my Now Sport sub (£33 a month).

Just to check what might be a stupid question. Can you only watch Sky Stream via the puck that they give you? Or can I watch on a laptop, tablet, phone, via my Xbox etc if I'm in another room or travelling?

Download Sky Go.

Anyone else with Sky Stream buffering issues? Only had it for a few days and I’m constantly having to reset the box. My internet works perfectly with Apple TV, Shield and all other devices

If you’re on WiFi then the pucks are stupidly sensitive to speed fluctuations. So many corners have been cut on these things to save money. They really are

Zero issues with mine. Deffo noticed a massive improvement though since I had fibre to the property installed, did have the odd stutter or crash prior, but zero issues since. Only issue I have is the Netflix bug where if you watch something in Dolby Vision, then the box stays in Dolby Vision even if you watch something in say normal HD on Netflix. Have to change to a normal TV channel for it to revert back to the correct signal being fed. Have confirmed that others have the issue as well, so it's definitely a bug. Doesn't do it on any of the other apps, just Netflix.

Same here, I've never had buffering issues either but I also have fibre.
