*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

which HD pack?

You get HD with the family pack

I took my subscription out originally in 2012, I guess things were different then. I have the 'Original' package (Sky 1 etc. but miss stuff like lots of music channels), the Sports package, then the 'HD pack' on top of that. As they're only offering discount on the TV packs they never seem to be able to offer any discount on the £10p/m that costs.

Got the 50% off offer in my account.. So went onto live chat and that offer changes to 35% off when i tell them i need an engineer visit to fix my box/installation...

Just on with Sky now, to see what is offered. Found out ive been a customer for 14yrs for two accounts! (Pay for my mum to have Sky too). Wonder what the opening offer will be!....

So currently £66.75 for Variety with Sports and HD Mix, took the easy option and re-signed for 12mths at 10 x £30 and 2 x £36 with an engineer visit included to fix the fault with the box (needs rebooting every other day, planner rebuilds every 2 weeks and general slowness!).

Is the credit supposed to show somewhere on mysky? I cancelled then resigned with the 60% off plus £100 credit but the credit doesn't show anywhere on mysky I'm considering calling and checking it has been applied I have a screen grab with the £100 credit offer on it from the day I signed.

It doesn't show, no. I had a 60% off deal with £100 credit and when my first bill came part of the credit was applied. The same happened on the next bill until all £100 had gone.

Just cancelled. We were on just the Family bundle after a Sky Friends & Family 12 Month 50% off. Best they could offer was 35% for 12 Months...no thanks. Hopefully will get a call back for an offer in My Sky. At least the cancellation process was fairly smooth, 10 minutes in all.

EDIT...Unbelievable, seriously no less an 2 minutes after I hung up the call I logged into My Sky...an there it is...50% off offer...why not just give the offer over the phone and save customers the hassle!

Just spent last 25 minutes on the phone trying to cancel.

After 5 different offers of about £1-2 off each time they finally cancelled.

Was on deal for £55 that went up up to £80 after deals finished and they were trying to flog the same package at about £70.

Lets see what offers arrive now.

Right so this is annoying just called sky to confirm that the £100 credit that was on the comeback page had been added and been told by the guy I was speaking to that the winback team deny alll knowledge of the 60% and £100 offer. I told him I had a screenshot of the offer and the winback team member told him that they hadn't heard of it and maybe the £100 credit was part of the 60%.

Does any body have any suggestions as how to proceed should I email the screen shot to the executive team and state that I feel this is false advertising and make a complaint? It clearly states in the text discount and £100 credit.

I had an offer for 6 months 50% OFF sky sports last year and when I called to sign up they told me offer was not valid. I had the leaflet and it was still not expired.
I told him I would be complaining to advertising standards for false advertising and as I had such an offer they had to honour it. after putting me on hold for 5 minutes lo and behold I was given that offer.

Sky right now are advertising 6 months half price sports I think. Or it might have been movies... But yeah anyway, it's not beyond reasonable to expect is it, considering they will now get full price out of you for 6months.

Well after cancelling a week ago my sky package not seen any offers come through. Will wait until early Jan then see about calling again.

To be honest stick to your guns. Is sky saying they have never heard of a deal like that or a deal at that particular time?

The evidence you have there is pretty strong so kick up a bit of a stink. We 'always' seem to get offers of either 60% off and £100 credit, or 50% off and £50 credit so they clearly should know about the offers!

Am I blind? I cannot see any £100 credit on the screen grab

Unless that isn't your scribing and arrow. If it is Sky, it is obvious that £100 credit is on offer. But I am assuming that is you pointing out the offer.
