*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Just out of interest did anyone get offered the 60% 5 year contract deal for being a long standing customer ? I left back in April/May whatever and we've been constantly hounded by Sky even though I opted out and unticked removed all kinds of communication. Last week I decided to answer the call as we usually dont bother and they are still offering me this deal. They offered this back in June when I accidentally answered the phone. I asked them then do I get a new Sky HD box and they said no so I told them no (ours is old) . They were surprised and said most people take it up. I said no thank you this time. Then I was asked do you not want us (Sky) to call you anymore and I said no. Wasnt expecting that question myself.

If I was offered 5 years on a good package I'd probably take it, unfortunately the contracts I am offered keep getting shorter and shorter. I've just cancelled again after 2 months because the package I was given didn't have HD and I'm not going to use it for the next 5 months when our Virgin package does have HD included.

Went on offer page and it says 'call us'

bah

I've had the same, I called 20 mins ago and I was told that the offer is sent by email to tempt customers back and I need to click the link to place the order or they need some order number or code when adding the package to your basket to process the order.

I explained that the offer is in my account when I log into it online (no email received) and that I'm unable to add anything into my basket as I am immediately asked which sky box I own and then told to call and confirm details.

I was told he's unable to do the deal over the phone without any of the above.

Have been with sky since they started, other than a brief spell with Ondigital, currently paying £133 p/m for everything (SkyQ silver). This thread has shown me sky don't care about loyal customers and therefore I will leave when my contract is up. Luckily I received an email from virgin and they will be in my area soon. I have seen their packages and they have a new 4K box (v6) coming as well. Will be the end of an era for me leaving sky but they are way too expensive. :(

If their new box is anything like the TiVo box, you'll be so disappointed :(

Along with my £9/month with 5 month free deal, I have now been offered Sky Cinema and all sports channels for £9/month for 12 months but which can be cancelled at any point during those 12 months.

Sky are so desperate not to be losing customers, it's not as though I had either of the package before I cancelled.

Can't believe it's been a year in December that we cancelled. Not really missed it TBH. I might have another look if there are some decent sky Q deals over the Christmas period.

Why bother if you haven't missed it?

Would be throwing money away if you don't need/want it

I hardly watch TV at all, but others in the house do, and get annoyed with dealing with Netflix, Prime, and NowTV, especially when the 'net is on a go slow, which happens occasionally. One thing with Sky, is it is 'convenient' but you certainly pay for that. I would never go back to the days of paying £100 a month.

Just signed up for original package with a sky Q 1tb box for £10 a month (leaving VM but keeping a negotiated broadband with them)
