*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Turns out Sky don't do 12 month offers any more so that was for 10 months then back to full price for 2 months.

They would not budge on that. :(

EDIT: Turns out I can ring back in 9 months and they will see what they can do so not too bad in the end.

Enquired about Sky Q which is the standard £12 extra a month which again is not too bad to get Sky upstairs - only downside is they want £100 for installation.... need to think about that one.

They do default to 10 but I've pushed them to 12 twice now, for myself and the GFs mum on her behalf.

If they are saying you can renegotiate it 9/10 then it might be ok, I wasn't keen on two months full price.

Cancellation, make sure you use the "Coming back to Sky" online chat :)

How do you get to that?

At moment on their site, Sky Q for 2TB box & 1 Mini box is £81.75 + £60 installation fee. Now I can sign up my partner no problem but is there a deal to be had anywhere to get the full package cheaper. We enjoy the movies once in a while, however £18 is a lot and we enjoy the sports but again £18.

We watch the box sets most though so that appears to be £38 a month straight off. We would like it both in living room and in our bedroom.

The 2TB box is mainly cause of the space because we are often playing catch-up with things as we have different shift patterns.

I have already cancelled my Sky as I have been paying £92 for a while now and it's just silly monies for the service.

Edit: Sorry it's an extra £6 for sports in HD so £87.75 for 12 months raising to £92 from there like I am paying now.

Got 50% off for 12 months yesterday from 'coming bk to sky' but i already had the offer in my sky service app. Thats for box sets, movies, spoirts & HD.

^ I've stopped my cancellation on this basis.

SkyQ quoted at £12 per month (multiroom) and £60 for the 2TB box and £40 for the mini - install costs. Happy with this.

Im sure the 1st mini box used to be free, and then £99 for each additional one.

How did you get that offer?
I did the coming back to sky chat and got 60% off, I already had the 50% before I cancelled last week.
I have to reinstate the account before they would quote me on sky q so I took the 60% deal then contacted the q team to be told £198 install fee and do you know answer he got, you can gone get ****** I'm not paying that.

Getting Sky Q installed in the morning. Managed to get the 2TB box and multi screen on Box Sets package for £27.20 a month, so 60% off.

I had to pay £90 for the boxes with a card payment, but got a £70 credit to my Sky account. Can't complain! :)

I've just done web chat to accept the 50% off deal, asked about a new box and they came back with 60% off instead.

Bill down from £80 to £35.60.

Seriously?

You don't consider a 50% deal good enough to accept?

50% off for me (since they're unwilling to discount the HD pack) is still over £35 a month - which is more than a Sky Sports month pass. As I only have Sky for sports, to me, that's still expensive. I guess it completely depends on how you use the service.

MY now TV voucher arrived this morning. 2.66 per month for the entertainment pack 6 months. I have been hammering the Sky Arts back catalogue some real gems in there I have not seen..Love the classic Albums series and have never Seen the Frank Zappa one!

On Apple TV its a nice slick experience and well worth the money to add to my prime and netflix Plex accounts.

I think it's because I didn't have multiroom before so it's likely a new customer deal for multiroom. Sky Web says it's more if you have it when upgrading to Q.

Bloody stupid really!

I was only ever offered an initial 20% discount when I rang to cancel (I was actually looking to cancel rather than just blag a better deal). I might have been tempted to keep sky if the deal was right. I'm currently coping fine with FreeSat and Amazon prime.

Went into a branch of a local high street retailer recently, spoke to a NowTV rep who was working in there and he sold me 12 months worth of NowTV entertainment for £20 all in. That's the daughter a little happier.

Snap

And I thought I got a good deal 16 quid for 6 months !

Well after a 20 minute chat on sky I've cancelled my package.
Best offer I got on chat was £15 off for 10 months bringing subscription down to £65

I politely declined the offer. Let's see what comes thorough on offers,
Hope something does otherwise the wife isn't going to be happy, :D

I'm considering cancelling my BT broadband and going with Sky Broadband with the variety pack and HD Sports.

BT just offered me a £1 a week saving when I mentioned I'm considering leaving! No thanks.

What is the best way to go about this to get it at the best price? Sky were offering a £100 voucher but that appears to be £25 now.

Well, didn't take long. 50% off for 12 months offer received with 15 mins of cancellation.
Why can't they just offer this to start with?

Still have to pay extra for sports HD channels though, again why?
I did enquire about dropping box sets but was told I would lose HD sports if I did this....

I was offered an amazing £2.25 off my monthly bill of £83.50. I politely declined and to be honest the Sky agent appeared to be a little embarrassed to be offering me the deal. Within a couple of hours I received the 50% offer on the Service App but am now really considering letting the cancellation go through and seeing if we can "survive" without live football and cricket.
