*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it.

What's the best way to switch. Can I just put in an order with Now via their website once my contract is out next month. I believe that should automatically switch my phone/broadband to Now.

Do I need to cancel SkyTV separately afterwards or is this done automatically as part of the broadband/phone changeover?

Best to set an order up now. Don't wait to be out of contract. NOW TV will deal with the transfer to SKY.

No, your BB is a a seprate product, you'll need to cancel TV as well. You need to give them 31 days notice IIRC, IMO best to tell them you're leaving early,

Just cancelled too, price went up to £63 for my packate, so going to add TV services and NowTV to my Talktalk BB package instead.

I think someone said earlier they may even let you out your TV deal a bit early, so no need to wait to cancel.

Thanks, that’s handy to know. Regarding TV being a separate product does that mean Sky would offer a phone/broadband package without TV/satellite as I’d be happy to stay with them if they could do that and match the price Now/etc are offering for just a phone line and fibre broadband?

Oh yeah, I had phone, TV, and BB, i've only got phone now.

It's all independent of each other. They'll be desperate to keep you as a customer in some form, so push them.

I've cancelled my Sky TV. I was paying £51 a month for Sky Ultimate, On Demand, inc. Netflix, HD, Sports. Everything except Cinema and Multiroom basically, but the offer ended. So I've got a couple of weeks for them to come back to me and negotiate a deal.

Just read last couple of pages. Similar here really - I didn't feel much love in the way of customer retention as before when I've gone about cancelling and got a good deal. Mind you before I was paying £51 I was getting all of the above for £32 (!) for around 18 months... so I couldn't get the same deal as before, but this time it just feels a bit like "okay, see you"... I had a text message last week saying it's not too late to not cancel etc. but no offers of cheaper deals. I'll see if they offer anything in the last week and reassess.

The only thing I really need Sky TV for is the F1. So if anyone knows the cheapest way for me to do that I'd be much obliged.

F1 Pro TV

Can you get F1 TV Pro in the UK? Annoyingly, no, you can't. In case you didn't know, F1 TV Pro is the official streaming service of Formula 1 but you can't subscribe in the UK because of Sky's exclusive deal for live races. F1 TV Pro is only available the US where it costs $79.99 per year.

Oh I see, VPNs etc. I do want to watch it on my TV, in the lounge, in good quality though, so I'd be looking at a different way.

Look out for a deal on Now TV. I’m paying £25/month (HD) at the moment. You do get the main Sky Sports channels for that not just the F1.

Anyone else's bill jumped up recently? Mine was £70 for TV broadband and phone latest bill is £91.
Looking at virgin the same package is £45 so sky's getting cancelled.
