*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

went through the 30 day notice, with rubbish deals being offered.

2 weeks after it ended, i received emails offering what I had before same price. But at this point i got used to not using it and decided to decline and return my Q 2TB and 3 mini boxes.

They left it too late to retain me.
Did you receive the packaging to return the equipment along with a letter listing the items to return?

Mine only lists the 2 Sky Q Mini boxes, not the main box or 'gateway ' as they refer to it.

Was paying £37 back in 2022 for 18 months, deal ended and us being stupid and caught up with life forgot to renew went up to £47 now in april £52.50

Have the simplest package really - Sig, hd, kids, multi - normal Sky HD box not even Q

Best deal was £47.50 haha after a lot of cancellation talk she said best to upgrade to q then multi will go down so full total for £42.50

still too much for us so will cancel later today

Paying £90 for Sky Q with an additional Sky Q mini box, the kid’s package and Cinema, which we hardly use at all. Looking to save some money by switching to Sky Stream and it’s £72 a month to do that, with a £40 set up fee. Meanwhile, new customers get Entertainment and Netflix for £22 for 2 years!

I mean the extent to which they expect existing customers to subsidise the new, by essentially punishing loyalty is astonishing.

Ex customer here. All's going well since leaving. My wife was missing Crime and Investigation channel which is available on Prime for a fiver a month. So we've subscribed to that.

Kids are on a combination of Netflix, YouTube and Disney from their tablets.

I mainly watch YouTube and am a premium subscriber.

We're in the process of moving house. My 20 year dream was to have a motorised satellite system. I know that's a bit Victorian now, but YOLO.

I guess it's smart TVs for the win.

Well, my wife set it up before we were married, so the accounts in her maiden name. I was planning on signing up as new customer, as it’d be a different surname. I’m currently paying £17.99 for Netflix separately, so to be able to cancel that, still get it and Sky entertainment for essentially an extra fiver a month seems worth it.

I’m also a YouTube premium subscriber, seems totally worth it seeing as the little un’s absolutely obsessed with Super Simple Songs and all the baby sensory stuff.

When comparing the price remember Sky only gives you the ad supported version of Netflix which is worth £4.99 a month, is only 1080 not 4k and limited to 2 devices.

I spoke to Sky in March, got my price frozen and took me out of contract, then lo and behold a few weeks ago I get another letter saying the prices are rising again.

Was paying £72 for Sky Entertainment, Netflix premium, Cinema, Sports, ad skipping and UHD. Over the next 3 months it’s going each month to £91. So after 12 years I’ve decided to bin it. I’ll miss the sport, but we don’t really use the rest much apart from Netflix. The free cinema tickets were decent but we never touch Paramount so figure what’s the point.

I also much prefer my Apple TV to the stream box, for one, it’s much more reliable at turning on the TV and Soundbar properly.

Might change my mind if I get a decent offer but doesn’t sound likely.
