*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

New offer I haven't seen before. Housemate received a 4 months free letter yesterday, no contract. Initially had the 50% to comeback, then the 75%, now 4 months and you can cancel any time without penalty!

We got the free 4 months one and the 50% off for a year today also. Not sure if both can be be used together. Should I hold on for a 75% off?

Just rang up to cancel

She offered me 25% off for 6 months i said forget it. She said you wont get a better offer so i said well i look forward to speaking to you in a few months when you send me offers like 50% off.

No sky for a few months then until the offers come in, oh well ;)

A shed load of stuff is repeated on Sky, it's only the sheer amount of channels which stop it from being like freeview. I still watch BBC and ITV, I will miss the discovery HD,turbo, shed. the F1 channel, Atlantic and FX (Game of thrones and The walking dead) But then we all know we can see all programming bar the F1 chan else where.

Dont forget the excellent interface. I've not found anything better with freeview / freesat and its one of the main things I miss.

Well, went back at 50% off for 12 months and a free new box. Price is £31.50 a month for all the channels including movies and HD but less sports. We left at the end of August. Could have probably held out for more but wanted it sorted. Box being fitted next Saturday.

Gt the call

So sky sports sky enternatinment for 23 quid a month 12 months
No 5 quid discount for hd that will still be 10 quid a month

How much u paying for sky hd subscription?

Full price, they said they couldn't discount the HD package, just the channels so £20 odd for the channels and £10 something for the HD. Fairly happy to get a new box as I'd ebayed the old one.

Yer good price that and it is for 12 months

But u will see on here people are getting discounts for sky hd pack
Like 5 quid off . Do any of u have multiroom?

It's such horrible business practice this imo. You could pay x amount for 10 years before something happens in your life e.g. lose job. You tell them you can't afford it any more and all of a sudden you're allowed to have a huge discount on the same product you had all along. Why couldn't I have just had it at that price to begin with, clearly I've been ripped off by you for many years.

It just seems like the only customers they care about are the ones that don't like to pay them. Corporatism at its worst.

Taken from another forum but look at this everyone

THIS IS FOR OLD CUSTOMERS! NOT EXISTING! (As far as im aware)
As in you had sky but cancelled because they were too bloody expensive!
OK bear with me on this!
We left Sky in September and I just got a few leaflets through the post so I called to find out about the offers we had.

In the end I was offered Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) for £24.12 a month with HD which is a 75% saving
The original price was £13.87 a month excluding HD

I was also offered Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) excluding HD free for 4 months with no contract, just cancel when your 4th month is up! Also a very good deal

So to recap
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Inc HD £24.12 a month on a 12 month contract
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Excluding HD £13.87 a month on a 12 month contract
OR
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Inc HD £10.25 a month no contract for 4 months
Sky World (All channels inc Sports and Movies) Exc HD Free for 4 months!

Was also offered a 2tb Sky+HD box for £49! Why not eh?

That would be great! 13.87 for sky world on sd?! Wow

Sky will prob ring me today, but not sure if I should go for the 50% off for 12 months, as the other thread update I made entitled me to 75% off

much better deal imo but would be hassle to get!!

We signed up to Sky two weeks ago

This is our deal if anyone wants to try for the same

2TB HD Box in Living Room
500GB HD Box in Bedroom
Entertainment Extra
HD Pack
MultiRoom Subscription

£22.87 a month for 12 months

Free Installation, Free boxes

How we got this deal was to ask a Sky engineer for a discount code. They are allowed to give them out now and won't get into trouble. The codes are generated online rather than the older style coupon leaflets, and they win prizes at the end of the year so they are more than happy to dish them out.

This gives you half price on the single HD box. You sign up as a new customer and have it installed. Then as soon as the engineers left, ring sky up and ask them for the 2TB with Multiroom for existing customers deal (since technically you now are, even though you have only been with them a day).

Jesus glen thats dirt cheap.

I paid around 60-80 pounds on multi room with HD packages. Its confusing how they got it to £22.87 when its £10.00 per HD add-on.

Well played.

Need to check my contract as I assume when I got multiroom installed this automatically renewed the contract for another year?

We are getting a new tv delivered on Friday with built in freesat so worse comes to worse I will need to live with that for a little while!
