*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

Jesus glen thats dirt cheap.

I paid around 60-80 pounds on multi room with HD packages. Its confusing how they got it to £22.87 when its £10.00 per HD add-on.

Well played.

£10 was half price with the discount code making it £5

and the multiroom sub was on the £2.50 deal with the free 2TB. The engineer when he installed the first time told us the best deals are on the phone.

that is a great deal
you are lucky

I wouldn't mind 75% off for 12 months

I will probably say no to 50% today, but need to say give me 75% off first
I will ask them!

Have fun watching ****** repeats of rubbish programs on freeview then... I think you will seriously regret cancelling sky very quickly when you realise how poor freeview TV is!

Let us know how it goes, how long you been with Sky?

10 years

could not believe it when he said that to me as well
I still remember the day I got the dish installed
memories :)

When I was growing up, we never had Sky all we had was 4 channels.
Sky was a luxury :)

Well yes but I meant he will regret cancelling it when he see's how bad freeview TV is compared to Sky.... I did not say "you will not be able to re-connect it"

What's everyone thoughts on YouView vs Sky? If you bought a YV box outright (believe it has Freeview and Freesat channels plus the free HD ones), no subscription with access to IPTV services.

Would you go for it? Or stick with Sky..

I seriously need to all Sky and see what deals I can get to reduce my bill.

Got 2 HD boxes (inc multiroom)
Full TV package
Unlimited Broadband, phone rental and £5 call package.

Costing my about £110 a month. Need to see if I can get that reduce by threatening to cancel!

I went for one of these boxes when I canceled my Virgin Media TV package. Pretty happy with it. It does only have 4 HD channels though - BBC One, BBC HD. ITV 1 and Channel 4. No HD for channel 5.

It will only take 6/7 months before it starts saving me money, so even if I choose to go back to SKY or Virgin Media after a year or so it will still have been worth it.

It really comes down to if you can live without the extra channels. If you subscribe to the sports channels and watch regularly then it probably isn't the best choice.

Update: Another call last night, offering the same deal 50% off for 12 months.

Still said no to them and expressed that I require HD, but with a half price discount on the HD fee, as others get this.

Sky was a luxury :)

I remember in the late 80s early 90s only one person had Sky in my street. BSkyB on the dish. Yet this day there's hardly a street you can drive past that hasn't got a dish. It's amazing the amount of council houses that have Sky.

I cancel every year and then wait for 50% discount for the whole year ! I have been doing this for the past 4 years :) Also another tactic is to get Multi room and get a new Free HD Box and then cancel 7 days later and keep the box :) Sell the HD box to pay for your sub for 1 month x

I gather this means you got 2 HD boxes?

lol

still no call back, was hoping for just one more at 75% off
looks unlikely though
