Skyrim remastered free for pc if you own skyrim already

Haven't had a chance to play yet. Disappointed no UW support though. No SLI either? I remember the original skyrim running really well with SLI.

As usual it's down to the modders to fix it? Joke on bethesdas behalf. Wouldn't be difficult for them to have updated a few key features.

Please can anyone help?

I am having the crash problem where the game will crash every time after exactly 15 mins of play time. This is the same issue that i and many others suffer with grid autosport but unlike others the fixes do not work for me.
I have tried all the fixes like disabling tabtip.exe and the touchpad and handwriting service but to no avail. All other games are fine.

Specs in sig win 10 64bit

Thanks for any help in advance.

I tried it for a bit last night, the environments look great and it's an improvement. But the NPC's and the animation for them suck hard. I hope there's mods coming to fix them as they jerk around and generally move very unrealistically.

Some seriously pathetic comments in this thread, "whaa it looks crap, I dont like modding, whaaa it's not worth £30"

It takes 10 seconds to mod and you can make the game to be pretty much anything you want, the world is amazing and the story is great if you give it a chance. Impatient and low IQ should avoid.

The game has issues that are unfixable at present, why is that so difficult to understand? Your last sentence there is ironic.

Comparison between the original and the remaster:

I have to say, I prefer the look of the original in many scenes.

They seem to have deliberately bodged their PC version. Mine looks better than that. They seem to have a <1080p res for their remaster. Or something went wrong with their recording.

That said, I can't say I'm overall particularly impressed by the remaster. Its still low poly and with old AI. As others have pointed out in the thread; "but its free!" Apart from its not for those conned into paying £30.

Again you may say Skyrim the game is worth £30. I'd agree. But some people paying £30 are coming from a position of owning the original on console, or with PC but without the DLCs. For those people - and I would say these are probably a majority - its a large wad of cash for very little input by Bethesda.

I have to say, I prefer the look of the original in many scenes. I always liked Skyrim's very cold, desaturated look, but the remaster looks much warmer and more colourful thanks to the new lighting. It's a little bit overdone IMO. I'm sure there'll be plenty of mods to tweak it to everybody's taste though, and the new base for that should allow even better things.

I tried using a lighting mod and it gave this wierd brown tint everywhere, and vanilla is just too cold for me.

is the EXE named the same as the old version? if it is Flawless widescreen may pick it up automatically and fix it..

32bit Skyrim vs 64bit Skyrim? I don't think so..

No SLI either? I remember the original skyrim running really well with SLI.

Have you tried Fallout 4's profile? The engine is basically FO4's the old FO3 profile used to work for original Skyrim iirc.

stuttering when fps drops to single digits doesn't look that good , for some reason when i played original one even only for 10 hours was better experience as far as i remember .

Does this version make better use of multi-core CPU's than the original game?

64 bit rather than 32 bit architecture, so yea. Very noticeable in the menu's. No more sluggishness. Will be a modders delight in the coming weeks!

I think it looks great on par with the modded skyrim i used to play on. I been playing it down scaled from 4k to 2k. My only gripe mods disable achievements.

I have been enjoying it without mods to be fair so far :)

For 3440 x 1440 users a small tweak in the pref files gets it working fine. Aside from very first page, everything else is in 3440 x 1440 format. Just need to first pick the settings you want, run the game then tweak the file as opening the settings option again resets the resolution:

bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1440
iSize W=3440

Nah pretty much all on one core which for me reached about 55% use typically with core 2 and 3 having a bit more activity. Rest were idle.
