Skyrim remastered free for pc if you own skyrim already

The game has been released with no Ultra Wide support, no SLI support, no Gsync support, it looks awful and it plays awful.

Yea it was free, but so what? It's now over to the modding community to code the game for Bethesda as usual.

Must admit that despite making great games, the state Bethesda release some games in really irks me. The fact that so many of them need to have have massive "unofficial" patches made by the community to fix game-breaking bugs is a bit sad, really.

CDPR put them to shame. :p

Unplayable????? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, it's a remastered game, a very OLD game. Pick up your toys and move on. Absolutely pathetic.

Plays perfectly smooth for me and graphically I think it's fairly decent for a free upgrade!

Honestly, some of you lot need to grow up, throwing temper tantrums because the game isn't the next best looking AAA title out this quarter.

Truly pathetic.

Yes you are kid. Go and enjoy your crap game.

So it plays perfect for you, therefore anyone having problems with it can just shut up and get on with it? Excellent contribution.

And incidentally, it isn't free.

Think people need to understand this release was never touted as a 'fix' for any of Skyrim's bugs

its just a texture overhaul.. Skyrim has always had bad or no exsistant SLI support, its still has numerous bugs with V-sync and G-sync and frame caps.. again never was gonna be fixed.

the fixes or work around for these have been out there for 5 plus years.. no point people moaning about things that were never promised to be fixed in the first place.

its like ordering a door specifically asking for no letterbox then moaning when its installed and the postie has no where to poop through...

The game is being sold for £30+ in 2016 and I think people have a right to have expectations. Like you have said, it's not like the dev wasn't aware of the issues.

Well I have just run it and it plays just fine, looks OK, however I can't really see much difference but that is just me...

Save games can be used from old install, just copy a file name from a new save and rename and old save file. There are now two skyrim folders in my documents my games.... so old saves have not been overwritten. Will say no texture packs, just OK that and resave....

I am happy......

i play the original with G-sync so not sure why you would need to turn it of on the SE version.

i just turn off V-sync in the Ini and limit fps in afterburner

Does it break anything? Aiming reticles not being centred? Stuff like that?

Got out of Helgen keep and found out why I didn't have a carry weight.

3440 isn't displaying the bottom of the inventory. Which means you can't see vendor sale prices.

Setting the ini 2540 puts the display on the left 2 3rds of the screen which means the game is...

Literally Unplayable! :D

Need a better solution otherwise will need to wait for a mod. Wanted achievements :(

Edit: Whoops. I can just manually set the Desktop to 2560. I'd forgotten just how small that res looks.

Well yeah, I guess if you are paying £30 you can complain....

Lets be honest, most people are getting it free or are paying very little.

Looks like 2560x1440 with borders for now then.

Or play on my 4K TV.

I have always used flawless widescreen with Skyrim on my 21:9 monitor to sort the menus out. just have to wait for the plugin to release

Had a quick go this morning. Performance-wise it's mostly a rock solid 60fps at 1080p with an rx480. At 1440p the frames dip a bit outside.

It certainly looks better than vanilla & I'm looking forward to seeing if a new breed of mods can take this enhanced base as a spring-board for even better modded visuals. It's certainly no match for a fully modded vanilla skyrim in it's current state though.

Still, a nice release for a freebie so no complaints here.
