Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

Another shoutout to the latest update to Pujie Black Watch Face, taking advantage of the new interactive API, quick taps to the stepometer and calendar.

And just got the notification for my G Watch R, which should also bring wifi support to it.

Also, about the upcoming Moto 360 2:

Moto Twitter accidental leak (now deleted): http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...-tweaked-design-and-another-flat-tire-screen/

Photos of people wearing them: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...360-photos-hit-the-web-from-multiple-sources/

Possibly coming in two sizes: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...towards-multiple-sizes-for-next-gen-moto-360/

EDIT: I just noticed there's now a charging screen for the phone, I thought my watch face was changed but it hasn't.

I'm currently preparing for a fight with Motorola over my Moto360.
The back has cracked from one corner and the crack was slowly spreading. Got to about 6mm long and I contacted Motorola to arrange a warranty repair.
Repair agreed and was told it'd take about 7 days. I took the watch off, factory reset it, put it in the original box, put that inside a bubblewrap cocoon and postal bag, then sent it off to SBE.
About 14 days later, receive a repair quotation from SBE. Ummm, what? They want to charge me £14.40 to return the watch unrepaired.
So I phone Motorola again. SBE have come to the conclusion that there was an unauthorised attempt at a repair and that the lens was broken (Lens?) and that due to this both issues are out of warranty.
Not happy or impressed. I went with Eric Berdinis (Moto360 Product Manager) comment on the Reddit AMA about cracking backs being repaired under warranty so I sent it back. Now it turns out that my £200 and 7 month old smartwatch is effectively scrap by following THEIR OWN RECOMMENDATIONS!
I've asked for it to be escalated and have been told I will be contacted in a couple of days. They've also said they will email me the address for formal complaints, that hasn't turned up yet. [edit - yes it has]

Hmm that sounds worrying. I sent my Moto 360 back on Monday primarily due to the strap falling apart, but also due to a cracked back as I was kinda hoping for a full replacement.

I maybe hitting you up for some advise if I get the same treatment!

This tells you everything you need to know about SBE.

Wish I'd seen that before. Would have asked for an advanced replacement and taken the £200 hold on the credit card.

Hi guys,

I'm new here so I was just wondering, what's the go-to Smart watch if I don't want to spend more than £120-130? I heard the Moto 360 is good and since it's EoS/EoL it's starting to drop into my budget range. The LG G Watch is also obtainable for that price too... So I'm not sure!

Thanks for helping me and my newness.

Hey mate, I'm sorry to say that my 360 was returned to them on Monday & I got a brand new replacement today (Sat). My strap was also broke so not sure if that make their decision any easier.

Hopefully you get yours sorted soon.
