You get good money for your players, ultimate selling club
It's like that point when playing FM, getting promoted and selling all your previous season's purchases for a massive profit. This year we've done:
- Gray, bought for £600k sold for £9.5m (£6.25m up front + £3.25m on promotion and a 27.5% sell on)
- Odubajo, bought for £1m sold for £3.5m
- Grigg, bought for £350k sold for £1m
- Tarkowski, bought for £300k sold for £6m
- Dallas, bought for 75k sold for £1.25m +250k
- Toumani, bought for £50k sold for 600k
That's £2.4m out and £22m in (assuming add ons), also got £3.5m for Forshaw at the beginning of last season. Not bad for a side that last sold a player for £1m+ when we flogged Hreidarsson in 1999.

He's not been as prolific as he's shown he can be, but it's not that bad, still higher than any Boro player, and still 7th highest in league.
I hope Boro change the formation, and I'd be happy with another 10 goals at least.

You should have gone all out to get Prichard, it's funny seeing Rhodes' goals, all 6 yard taps in, Adomah will have to up his game and actually beat the first man to get supply to him. You'd of thought Blackburn would have asked for something in the deal for him not to be able to be played on Saturday, absolute banker he will score.

I'm happy with just a poacher, depending how everything works out.
The Pritchard thing is annoying. He wanted game time, so instead goes to a PL club, who aren't likely to play him?
I'd be happy for us to start using Fry too tbh.

Well, some of the signings haven't exactly done what they're meant to.
But it'll get harder from here on out I think, hence why it's paramount to get promoted this season.

Current squad cost about £28m although promotion will add another £7m on top of that. Our defence only cost £450k thou.
The one area where Karanka has struggled to get right is our forwards with the exception of Bamford and Stauni. Nugent in particular has not produced the form I was hoping for just hope the arrival of Rhodes might spear him on.
Our last starting line up cost £3.8m! I genuinely hate how FFP is structure and think it's genuinely challenge-able through the legal system. To not differentiate between debt and equity, and to limit the owners investment seems so backward
On to BHA away on Friday night. We played some great stuff against Leeds in the first half, so hoping for another improvement this week.

we spent ages trying to balance the books with strachan wasting god knows how much and failing miserably.
at least karanka has spent well apart from maybe downing. but after his performances last season anyone in the championship would have taken downing (and a fair bit of the prem league) . hes also turned some of mowbrays singings from mediocre into worth a bit
i guess having what must be the best chairman in football probably helps too...

Great game tonight. Really pleased. Knockhaert is different class! (and I had a tenner on him to score first). I thought Murphy was excellent too. Should have scored more tbh, seemed like we didn't want to shoot in the second half.
tosh - who is your striker? Tbh mate I thought you looked pretty toothless. Decent build up but no cutting edge. Woods looks pretty decent though.
