SOME RYZEN 7 1700 OVERCLOCKING!

Finally got my RAM to run a 2933, it's like magic. Team Group Vulcan's for those who are interested. Now to get the Core stable at 3.8Ghz, it's taking a lot of volts to just load Windows, so possible that I lost the lottery with this Chip (1.35v to get to desktop).

At that voltage I'd give up at this stage.

1.2875v bios, 1.224v under load for me for 3800. I think I have an average chip.

I think these chips have a cliff where loads more voltage is needed. For example need 1.4v bios to get 3900 and I don't even think that is 100% stable. No point.

How are you guys stress testing memory?

I've moved onto getting timigs down @ 2400 as I can't get speed up.

At the moment down to 14-14-14-35 but feel like IBT, Prime95, AIDA etc. aren't actually stressing the memory enough.

Pretty sure 14-14-14-35 @ 2400 @ 1.2v shouldn't be stable.

I actually haven't really tried stressing memory yet, but would probably run prime95 blend (easy will like that). Aida64 might be better though - not sure what else is good for it.

But only going to bother once a few bios updates out.

Currently on 2666, and trying cas 14 wouldn't post and despite setting 15 in BIOS it sets it to 16. So will just wait.

For now I have my system actually doing stuff.

Exactly the same as me. I've lost the lottery I think. At any speed above 3.7 I cannot pass a simple test no matter what volts i put into it. Currently reinstalling windows 10 again because I put this motherboard straight in after removing the MSI b350 to see if its a software issue.

Well, at least it can be stable now :D

Beginning to think I may have a relatively decent chip.

LOL very true! Its a weird one for me. I can't seem to put anything on the bclck without it becoming unstable. I suspect it maybe the ram rather than the CPU. Windows reinstalled I'm just running realbench at 3.9 if that fails it looks like i have a 3.8 chip. Not the end of the world. Your chip looks like a real good one.

Well it's definitely a funky bios or board which is limiting the ram, nothing will run above 2666 stable on my board, I can get 3000 using blck adjusting but it then crashes within minutes of starting video encoding, runs realbench fine without crashing but no encoding

CH6 dual 980Ti's (currently not clocked), H100iv2 Cooler and temps are never reported above 47 load sit around 25 idle - so it's not that. Stock Vid is 1.35v as seen in the bios, load goes down to 1.1 ish with bursts up to 1.5v!. Tried all of the mail three BIOS for the CH6, with the most stable (as in longest running RB) being 1001. Fresh Win 10 install yesterday. Any ideas? Or should I be calling OcUK tomorrow for an RMA?

Edit, error = crash and reboot, nothing seen on screen.

Heres my take on realbench. My first problems on a MSI tomahawk B350 couldnt pass realbench at stock. Used DDU to uninstall drivers and rolled back to december version then passed fine. Even got it to 3.8 on that board.
Now I have the CH6 again I cannot pass realbench or any kind of stability testing at anything above stock. This was the same windows install I used with the MSI.
I've just reinstalled windows and now I have done this

Before it would crash within 15 minutes. Realbench is really sensitive to display drivers it seems.

Fresh install of Windows though. Latest nVidia drivers. Seems nuts if you are correct, not saying you are nuts :). I don't know what to do, for the first time in over 25 years, a PC has stumped me.

Believe me I had the same, me and eyetrip had quite a long proces diagnosing the issue. Try a nvidia driver rollback first using DDU to uninstall.
