Someone please help me decide :(

Although, my budget PSU was £26 and it's been fine for 3 years :D
You are one lucky person.

Judging by your specs you don't go the extra mile and overclock it, so I understand why you haven't had any problems.

My sister had a 7 year old £30 PSU that only busted this year because of some electrical problems. Unfortunately she wasn't lucky enough since it burned the HDD and one fan plug on the motherboard

Well you should. They clearly explain why having a non modular PSU in the prodigy is fine. If you don't want to accept it, then I'm not going to push you thinking it is.

Meet David he knows his stuff ;) Tiny Tom logans videos I also enjoy watching.

I never said you couldn't use a non modular PSU but once you use one you won't go back.....trust me :D

I know, I am upgrading after Xmas. TBH, I wanna start gaming on it as I don't use it enough. My bro has used it for browsing only tho.

the psu i ordered is 80 plus modular bronze.. so it should be ok i think and i will do a build log so you lot can see my failure, delivery date says 26th but i doubt thats when it will come... but who knows. all i need now is a GPU I'm looking for some cheapo 2nd hand 1's because im a tight arse ill keep you updated on it! :D thanks again everyone

You won't get access to our members market yet (1000 posts). As I said the 1GB 460 goes for around £50. Avoid the non 1GB cards and the SE version though.

I have an EVGA one i've overclocked to 900mhz and with nvidias new drivers I still find it capable. I'm playing Farcry 3, Skyrim, Dishonoured, Shogun 2, the star wars MMO etc etc quite happily at 1080P. It also adds CUDA support which a number of software suites can exploit to speed them up :)

First time watching David. I'll have a look.
Tiny Tom is great though. Loved all his reviews/mods for the Bitfenix Shinobi.
I actually adore him when he rambles on about a component. People complain about it but he picks out everything and anything of a product unlike some unboxers (Linus).

I know, I was just saying you can still do a neat job with one.
Yeah I totally agree when switching to modular from non and never going back.

I can't watch the Linus videos, he is far too camp he just winds me up, his voice really grates on me.....I'm sure he is a nice guy and all but that's just me.

I like TTLs waffle too, I'll leave the video playing in the background as I do other stuff.

and im unsure if they did i was just wondering that i dont know if my psu will fit :( gunna check

If you ordered the parts I spec'd you will be fine. OCuk use the P&C modular PSU in their bundle they sell......chill ;)

Hes funny and entertaining in my opinion, it's just that he doesn't cover everything that other unboxers would. He gets a lot of stuff wrong and can be really unprofessional but hes one of those guys that gets away with it. The main reason why I watch him because he tends to get products quicker than anyone else.

Try Newegg (I'm sure I can't say this on here). They do some great benchmarks on GPUs. Haven't checked all of them but the GTX 660 review/s were extremely helpful.

These guys on the other hand are the biggest bunch of mother....

hono is the asus hd 7770 1gb a decent gpu im looking at a 2nd hand 1 at £45 wich seems reasonable if their any good

Yeah not bad for £45

7770 vs 6850. I'd hold out for a 460 though, nvidia has CUDA and HBAO lighting (pretty shadows) which i prefer over SSAO and HDAO

oh and should i get the thermal paste stuff or won't i need it?

Paste will come preapplied to the stock heatsink
