hmm, been through all the combinations as far as I can see. Also tried another hdmi cable and same results.

When you switch the tv on does it automatically switch the Yamaha amp on ?

nope. there seems to be absolutely zero hdmi control 'sync' between the tv and amp. No on/off sync, no volume sync. As I said, the amp does not show up in the bravia sync devices list.

My Yamaha RX-V767 does not show up in the device list either but it still works.

Do you have a PS4 or any other device that support hdmi control link that you can try?

no, I don't have anything else. just the free soundbar that I haven't unpacked, but I presume that has no hdmi on it as the salesman was trying to sell toslink/audio out cable for it

and as for the free sound bar yes it has no HDMI anyway.

Yeah they tried to sell me a toslink cable also but the sound bar comes with one anyway :rolleyes:

Anyone having problems playing .mp4 files on this tv? Any .mp4 that is over ~2hours of length causes a "playback is not available" error at around the 25-30 minute mark. Shorter .mp4s with the same quality settings play flawlessly.

managed to figure out what was wrong with my arc/hdmi control problem... both hdmi cables I have are too old. Got a new one and boom! Everything working.

What revision was the old HDMI cables ? 1.2

no idea. apparently there's no such thing as version numbers for cables. It's either highspeed or standard speed.

Is it ripped directly from dvd/br? Sony halts playback if it detects disc drm (or so I understand).

The youtube app dosent seem to play hd is there a setting that needs to be turned on if so how?

Is there a keyboard mouse available for the tv also?

I have had this TV since world cup. Won a ps4 and got a sound bar.

£599 at Curry's at the moment and got John Lewis to price match. Considering ordering this to replace a 3/4 year old, basic/mid range, 40" Samsung in the living room. You guys think it's worth it at this price considering new models will be on there way soon?

Eh.. I am pretty certain that it does it by default. I swear mine just picks the best quality it can and plays it. Are you connected by wire or wireless? I am wired so that may be a factor.
