Sony Bravia KDL 50 W829

I got one of these today and have my Xbox One running through an Onkyo AV receiver. However, on black screens there are weird white/green speckles dotting around. Any ideas how i can stop this?
 
you'll deffo get a bargain in currys right now.......i saw loads going cheap, these bargains are not online :eek::eek:........55'' 4K SONY = 800 quid ( damaged box) .... this is the same every year when new stock comes out
 
Played with the settings last night having left things at default for a week to let things bed in. My word it's made a difference. Looked online for some recommended settings and found a couple of flavours, so played with each of them and found the one I liked most.

I'm blown away by how good the tv looks now, such an impressive piece of kit.
 
Just picked up one of these for a steal in Dublin. Very good quality screen for the price. I've changed the calibration settings for all my inputs, but I've gotta say, the default settings aren't the worst I've seen. Except for motion flow. Ugh.

Not sure if I have asked this before. But can anyone recommend me an app for my phone to use as a remote for this TV? I have just ordered a nice BDP-S5500 blue ray player and that supports the iphone app for control but would love to use it with the TV as well.

Also I noticed I can do screen mirroring with an ipad/android device on the BR Player. Can you do it on the TV? Is there a setup guide?
 
I use an app for iPhone called TV SideView which appears to be from Sony (but doesn't look like it!) which works well as a remote for this.
 
Hey, just got this TV and looking to change the picture settings. I believe I should be pressing the home button to get to this menu. I press the button and can see white light change under the Sony badge but nothing happens. The same thing happens when I press options and the button directly above the home button that looks like a cross hair kind of. Can you advise if I am being totally stupid? Thanks

Media Server and w829. How picky is the TV regarding file formats, MP4, MKV etc, so over the network not USB.

I have a 1TB HDD plugged into my ASUS AC router which has a built in media server.

My old samsung plasma 2012 pretty much played 95% of files and worked well but sadly TV is dead and needs replacing.
