Totally horrendous. As a father to two little girls this makes me feel simultaneously numb and seething with anger.
The parallels to other knife attacks are easy to see, but part and parcel of living in a great global country is you have to be prepared for these things. Right?
No. You shouldn't haven't to be prepared for this sort of thing, and I refuse to pretend not to notice that this sort of attack, from this sort of person, is becoming more common.

To be fair that's a very good point. I was lucky my company just told me not to worry about it, I know some dad's had to go back to work while we were there. Very sad.

I have a 6 year old son, if someone did that to them I'd make it my sole purpose in life to kill them, consequences irrelevant.

Horrendous that the death toll has now reached 3, I fear it will get higher.
BBC confirming that the suspect was indeed born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents and has an older brother who was also born in Cardiff; hopefully that will shut down some of the nonsense that has been spouted on here in recent hours.

Ok so what about food, catering for the wake, family getting hotels if they don't live local and or transport costs, cutlery, drinks. Money doesn't solve their loss but it will help them in such an awful and agonizing time.

I think there definitely needs to be stop to the type of knives people can get hold off these gangs with them giant zombie knife is hideous, not saying It wouldnt stop this but I swear them big type of knife were not a thing many years ago.

The zombie knives thing is a red herring. Most Kitchen carving knives are just as dangerous and can be ordered online with zero checks.

The level of speculation about this is hitting crazy highs, understandable really considering the level of horror - people want blood/reasons/justifications/confirmation it's the 'usual suspects' etc. I think the police will shortly be forced to confirm or officially deny at least some of the origins/attributes of this attacker.

I was going to suggest that it's not really problem as they are rare occurrences, but looking at this list - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_stabbings_in_the_United_Kingdom it seems like the 2020's has seen a huge rise in these compared to previous decades where it really wasn't a problem, not sure what the solution is, we already have banned killing people, you can't really ban knives because everybody who cooks needs a knife
I think the world has enough death in it without purposefully adding more.
We just need life to mean life and no more minimum sentencing.
