Spanish Grand Prix 2010, Circuit de Catalunya - Race 5/19

What are you on about, anti MS fans? I've been one of his biggest defenders this year.

You would have to be a complete numpty to not know which direction they are taking the car and who it is going to suit, even if it's at the detriment to Britneys pace.

I've never ever witnessed any team make excuses or protect MS in the way that I have this season. All the questions and talk is about when MS will win again. "Norbert when will you have a car for Michael to win again" etc etc

They never even discuss Rosberg getting the win first. Moving the wheel base was the first step in a series of steps to build the car MS will want.

Anyone that thinks any different clearly doesn't have a clue about MS's biggest strength of the last 20 years. To build the team around him.

MS will get stronger and stronger as the changes he will demand are made.
rosberg said he doesnt like an over steering car either so the upgrades should suit him as much as they did schumacher as if 5mm would completely ruin rosbergs driving style seriously its a bad weekend for him i doubt they will even change the car much more this season unless its stuff they expect to work on next years car to.

most of the car suiting schumacher from now on will be how he sets his car at he just wanted the balance of the car to be better as did rosberg.

i think they are both switching back to the shorter wheel base for monaco anyway lets see how much the car will suit schumacher than

Just caught up with the race. On the replay of Hamiltons accident you can see the wheel go through a pretty serious camber change as soon as he loads it up. My money would be on some kind of hub/wheel bearing failure.

You're right! I just spotted that too. The camber goes completely neutral or negative. And this occured a second or two before the tyre expoded. So it wasn't a tyre or even wheel rim failure. It must have been either hub or general suspension failure.

Schumacher likes an over steering car, so any changes which favour his driving style will tend to hurt Rosbergs to an extent.

Well, Webber's at least managed to endear himself to me a little by lobbing his helmet into the crowd, which rather fortunately was captured by a young spectator :). Lucky kid!

er no he doesnt over steer= not a pointy car its a car that doesnt want to turn nothing like a kart which is what schumacher likes his f1 cars to feel like.

anyway can see monaco having atleast 6 safety cars just from the new teams ....

Just watched the race and even though it was a bit of a procession was still an interesting race.

Vettle - Not sure whether he is a car breaker but he seems to have more than his fair share of badluck
Schumi - Was very impressed with his race. I think things are only going to get better for him.

Really awful race

LGH deserved 2nd because he drove well until the failure, but no way would he have got that place without Red Bull's botched tyre stop (or the problem that occured later)

Cant believe McLaren's terrible equipment ruined Button's race (seemed like the "guns" failed during Lewis's stop too but they were ready for it). With a working dash I think JB would have had MS, there was just no way to judge it clearly enough without the readouts on the wheel.

Well done Mark - even though it was won in quali (or at worst by the first corner)

An oversteer-biased car is a pointy one - the front end goes where you tell it to, the rear end hangs out. An understeer-biased car seems to be what you are referring to - the front end washing out, slow to react....

Rosbergs troubles are just begining now that the car has been and will continue to be altered for MS's loose front end. What will happen is they will push in that direction and Rosberg will either live with it or go back to the old car and not make progress.

I never doubted it would be any different. If MS was a new driver we would be talking about him in heikki terms for being outclassed, 7 world titles though gives him more than a little weight to get the car HIS way.

Seriously, you couldn't be more wrong. Rosberg agreed the changes on the car as he likes to car to be set up with similar characteristics as Michael, that is a tight/shape front end.

He even said so himself as did Nick Fry and Ross Brawn.

I went back to cleaning my car at lap 10. I still had audio, but it didn't seem I missed much. My only comment would be I think Lewis deserved 2nd for his performance. All in all.. dull. At least Monaco has some pedigree and charm.

Don't have to wait long either!

make that a 4 day gap as first practice is on Thursday!

:D

Haha you wait and see how much rosberg likes it as the seasons progress. The idea for the changes were made before rosberg had raced the car in anger. I'm 99% sure who will be driving this car in a certain direction of developement.

Anyway onto monaco. I'm going for vettel to crash on lap 36. Hamilton to try to run 102 laps on a single set of tyres despite pushing like a madman and MS to win ;)

Can't see how anyone will beat a red bull tbh, no one will get near enough in a dry quallies to get passed a red bull front row lockout.

Rain please :)

Send it to me i will get him to sign it.

Better buy this year's one then, as it's going to be a championship winning one, as the one i've got is last years :p

I gave up with the race after about lap 10, was pretty obvious what was going to happen. I do like Barcelona as a track to drive on racing games but for watching racing itself it's nothing spectacular. Still don't like the alterations to the end of the lap they made a few years ago.

Hamilton had a superb race in all honesty, as much as I hate to concede it. Take away the 2 Red Bulls and he was 40 sceonds ahead of Schumacher.
