Well you can't read the signature rules and your own posts (since you edited), so I would say very blind.

jonny - my gf is a laser tech with optical express. any questions and i'll ask her and see if she knows. :)

I reckon you should go to OE in newcastle, chillax with me for the weekend and get your eyes done. :D

*n

I've been thinking about getting it done, had never considered Optical Express to be honest, had been looking at Ultralase in Newcastle.

Just been reading on the website and I could have the consultation here in Darlington then I guess you travel up to the clinic in Newcastle for the procedure?

I'll definitely be getting it done at some point, probably when I need a new pair of glasses :p

Cool, might book myself in for a consultation and see what they say.

I would LOVE to see unaided but this all just scares me :(

I know a couple of people that have had it done and they all say it's the best thing they've ever done. I'm a little apprehensive about it but it is something I plan on doing.

The stuff that I miss is going to waterparks and swimming and going diving and stuff (would love to do that!) but I can't see a thing. :(

I'm -5.00 in my right and -6.00 in my left - not fair!

Tempted by this, still not comfortable with having sum1 blast lasers into my eyes, what if they **** it up? any chance of going blind?

Yup. Is it really worth the vert slight risk? If you have near perfect vision (thin lenses) then no. A bloke from school had to keep eyes 4" from paper to read it, for him definietly worth it (if he didn't have some other kind of problem)

And the result was?

Gotta say this thread has opened my eyes a bit *boom tish!*
I never knew you could get laser surgery as cheap as £395 an eye

I'll do it for ten quid. Or five if you supply your own laser, take apart defunct CD player. :p

Eyesight is great. Going back next Tuesday for a post checkup.

Just need to put drops in my eyes for a while now, not cheap though think cost me about £2100 !!

Went for Lasik + fermosecond + wavefront all adds up :D

Ooo that's expensive :(

I've got a real sqeamish side and reading all this has made me want to get it done but put me off at the same time, despite me sticking my fingers in my eyes for the last 15 years with contact lenses...
Same here, despite the glasses and contacts, just too scared to have laser surgery.

Edit: Well, almost the same, I'm a dynamic young go-getter, not an ageing old man who's losing his sight :p

can be scarey but believe me, on the acutal day you feel next to nothing. They put drops in your eyes. Hard to see much as the equipment is so close to your eyes and the drops do blur your vision.

Oh the smell is the worse when the laser goes on, kinda like burnt hair :p
