Eyesight is great. Going back next Tuesday for a post checkup.

Just need to put drops in my eyes for a while now, not cheap though think cost me about £2100 !!

Went for Lasik + fermosecond + wavefront all adds up :D

Got mine on Tuesday! Can't wait, currently wearing some old glasses as I can't wear contacts.

Mine added up to £2400! Should be worth it I hope! Yay!

I was watching How its Made or whatever on Discovery. It looks like a scary process. I have sensitive eyes, I really struggle to put drops in my eyes. I am scared that I might move my eyes during the surgery.

Is it a one time surgery i.e. does it last or does it need to be redone in a few years?

my ex's( :( ) brother had it done it a few months back, took a fews weeks of aftercare but im pretty sure he couldnt be happier with the result

one time, they say 'if' it goes wrong or needs to be redone, to wait a good few years as not reccomended to get lasered too many times :p

Clinic in Harley Street, London. One surgeon there called Mr Pillai who seems very confident and knows his stuff inside out.

Very expensive (about £1300 per eye for Wavefront LASIK) but I'm really happy with the results.

did u have this done by mr pillai? Just asking as I know him and I am registered as one of his partner clinics.

Well, got my eyes done this morning!

Surgery went fine, I'm now a member of the no-glasses club!

Uncomfortable afterwards, and I just went to sleep, but once I woke up, the gritty feeling had gone away and my eyes-lids were no longer leadweights.

I can see for miles already, albeit a tad blurry now and then, but that is to be expected...

Roll on the next few days!

Yes I did. He was excellent, his team were very patient and friendly, very focused on his work and was completely honest about the type of treatment he would use according to my prescription. Apparently he performed laser eye surgery on his own daughter, so he must be confident of it.

Think im gonna go for that ebay optimax special ebay offer under 1k for both eyes sounds good.

I was considering the flap cutting treatment but a lot of people say it never heals up or can take 2-3 years to fully heal up and even then its not the same as before.

How long do optimax take usualy? I mean can one book an appointment and get it done within 2-3 weeks?

Book marked this thread as I've been holding back on this until I got more info.

Say this the other day : http://news.independent.co.uk/health/article2614899.ece

I'm seriously considering having it done.

In a nut shell, it's a contact lense that pushes your eye back to it's optimal shape (like re-focusing the eye) and your eye will 'form back' to it's original shape after a day or two.

Sounds fantastic, have rung a few opticians up (some have never heard of this treatment), but those who have all confirmed it's a very new and very successful treatment that is zero harmless.

Might be an option to think about.

What opticians did you ask mate? They sound dumb mate. This treatment you are talking about is called orthokeratology. It has been around for years but becoming more popular now as more opticians are specialising in this and also the awareness is higher for this type of treatment with the increased demand for laser and those looking for alternatives.
Anyway mate...if you need to see a proper optometrist - come and see me.I'm based in Kent.:-)

Ive heard a few guys mention it saying it works, u just wear the lenses overnight about 30 quid per month and next day u walk around with full excellent sight...

One guy said hes well chuffed.

It does sound good but id still rather go lazer :)

Thing which gets me is that you don't see many doctors getting laser eye treatments

Just read penski's post about the surgeons, seems you know a lot of people to back up your arguments...... shame i have never met a doctor who has had laser eye treatment.

I was seeing a girl for a while who was a laser counsellor at optical express and she said a lot of the surgeons don’t get the surgery due to superiority complexes, they realise the procedure is safe but they only trust themselves to do it. Sumat like that anyway :o
