Spec me an LED Torch

It would do that but the runtime for the headline lumens is 30s or 75 degrees C whichever it hits first. Would have non existent runtime in todays temperatures

After that it gives up and has the output of a much cheaper torch.

30s should be more than enough for me to scan a field. Doesnt seem to be a huge amount of reviews on them yet.

Like I said I was considering the ms18 for a long time so I know they are ridiculous things regardless.

My Astrolux EC03 is turning on at the same brightness each time and not the brightness that it was when I powered it off like it used it. Does have anybody have suggestions?

I've been digging through some old drawers etc and have found a Maglite AAA and a 2xD cell set of flashlights and have thought about using them again. They have the standard incandescent bulbs in them. Are the led upgrades on ebay worth while? Ta :)

The d cells ones are solid.
I use them as backup units. I have a 6 cell D in my car under the carpet mats in the back.
On a proper set of Duracel D's it's been sat there for nearly 5 years and has worked every time I have grabbed it.
I used a terralux kit iirc.

I’m looking to get a torch or two for when I’m out walking the dog in the winter. Are the olights worth it? Looking between the baton 3 and the SR2 Baton.
Is the best place to buy from the olight store?
Olight are really overpriced, if all you need is a dog walking torch I'd probably go for something cheaper like a Thrunite/Astrolux.

I currently use a Baton 3 Pro for the night walks. Perfect for the price and performance you get. They usually have some fantastic deals on and you shouldnt need to pay full RRP. Usually the best place for Olights is the Olight Store UK , although there are the occasional bargains on Amazon and eBay. If you are new, you can usually get a freebie keyring torch and money off vouchers when registering with the Olight Store UK

Reet. I want a headtorch. Needs to be very, very bright for walking the dog at night.
Ideally, it should take 18650s and last an hour with a couple of 3000mAh cells.
I have one like the picture below at the moment and it's fine but the beam is a bit too narrow for my liking and it's not quite bright enough for my liking. I'd like to be able to see the dog from 100M or so away.

I asked pretty much same question a while back

Couple of people recommend this to me

Need to buy it at some point
I want it for doing the odd job around car or PC

Sofirn SP40 Led Headlamp Super Bright Head Led Torch 1200 Lumen, Rechargeable Headlight with 18650 Battery for Fishing, Walking,Hiking

I haven’t regretted my impulse purchase of a Sofirn C8F a while back.

Just about the right size in my opinion. Small enough to sit on the bedside table (on the base of my reading light) and yet chunky enough to fill the hand and you instantly know if you‘ve got the right way up; something I’ve struggled with only smaller batton style flashlights.

The first ”moonlight” intensity setting is perfect for finding your way to the fuse board when the power goes out without blinding yourself or waking the entire household.

The next setting up is fine for finding your way around outside without alerting neighbouring farms or attracting low flying aircraft. The third “high” setting illuminates everting in the beam out to a hundred metres. Turbo makes everything out to a hundred metres blink and wince. It also starts heating the alloy body up right away. I haven’t tried it, but I’d imagine that the front end gets too hold to touch within a minute or two of turbo mode.

The one gripe I have with this flashlight is that the battery has to be removed to charge it.

The Reddit thread on r/flashlights has lists of all the best lights in each category. They know their stuff.

I have a couple of sofirn sp40s for mechanic work but think you'd want something bigger for dog walking
