The guy on Lygte.dk says the charging current on the i4 is a little high for charging 14500s and smaller, but he found a trick to lower the charge current so you can charge little batt's without damaging them (it's at the bottom before the conclusion);

The p17 modes are good, because when you switch on, its on high, then another press low, then the final press it switches off. I think I could cope with modes like that, because I haven't see any led torches with a straight on and off button without the other modes.
