Spurs sack Poch

This is a terrible football decision that will be heavily compounded if Mourinho is appointed.

We have a bunch of toxic players who will leave in the summer but were the backbone of the team. Poch identified this and asked for it to be fixed during the summer...it wasn't.

Poch gets sacked and we seem to be thinking about appointing a dull and defensive manager with no pedigree of working with youth or modern generation of footballers which is exactly what will be available when the core of the team leave.

Mourinho will demand money that Poch could have succeeded with.

Horrific spursy nonsense.

I hope you're wrong but I fear you are right :(

First 18 months happy days maybe win something but then the inevitable will happen. Price worth paying a for a trophy ? Not for me :(

Takes a lot to to get me sad about football nowadays.

That's shocking, they must have been speaking with Jose, while Poch was still in charge.
This is why I think the announcement was so late in the break, they've been negotiating with Jose longer than originally planned and didn't want to announce Poch being sacked until Jose was a done deal. There's no way initial contact was made and a mutually agreeable contract drawn up in 12 hours overnight.

It's just baffling by spurs over all there history of lack of spending then going to Jose who loves spending is also going to be a stumbling block from day one.

I'll be annoyed if Levy does open his wallet, the last transfer window was too late to reverse the issues compounded by the previous summer (and others).

Wow, mourinho spurs manager?? Seriously, what is Levy playing at? Turgid and toxic character who plays tedious defensive football. Total opposite of Poch. Crazy decision. It won't end well. I actually feel sorry for spurs fans :p

Completely agree - Jose wont win the league or CL. He will claim FA Cup or League Cup is a massive achievement as we drop out of top 4 and regress with massive instability.

As sad as I am to see Poch go with some phenomenal moments and he seems a genuinely nice guy. I'm not as misty eyed as some in here and in the media. As someone who has as painfully watched every game this season, our form is like we have gone back in time to the late 90s. Truly woeful performances that weren't addressed week after week. if we can just get the basics right, I'd be happy with that. It probably won't end well in 2 or so years time, however we need a rocket up the player's backsides, and it needs to happen now.

100+ million was still spent on players that largely have flattered to deceive. Klopp didnt spend last summer...we are top of the table by 8 points. Do you really think if we dont spend for two more windows that we will be in a similar position to Spurs?

Seems to me like theres a complete lack of vision at the club. Whether thats Pochs fault or not, im not sure but this has been coming.

You could be. A lot of top managers have been complaining that its almost impossible to motivate players after a few years in charge. You are saying the same things to them year after year and they stop listening. If you win things and don't improve or refresh your squad you can become stale. If there wasn't a danger of it happening you wouldn't see the issues that many top sides have faced recently.

Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern. They have all had periods of domination followed by underperformance. Who knows what will happen in the next few years. Will Pep leave City if they have a bad season?

Have to agree football is a strange game

I can confidently say we wont be in the same position next season as to what Spurs are now because the infrastructure is there at Liverpool. At Spurs they don't seem to have a plan...the scatter gun approach in the summer highlighted it imo.
