Staples's 'Kashmir' Managers Chair

I went into Office Outlet a few weeks ago and sat in all the chairs - Non were as good as my 25 yr old HAG chair - I do need a new one but not buying at the price unless I can sit in it and my nearest stockiest is in Bristol.

I've got that one, had it about 2 years and it's the most comfy chair ever, so far only one slight problem, around 90mm of the stitching coming apart on part of the seat area, not really noticeable and it could be repaired with needle & thread easy enough if it got worse.

Also it's started creaking again,:p I fixed it last time by tightening the bolts a bit more but any more will strip them

I'll be nipping to Stoke in the near future to check whether the Damask really is a Kashmir replacement.

Usher - when you say you 'have that one' do you mean the Kashmir (in which case you're just showing off) or the Damask (in which case that's really useful info)? :D

I've got the black velvet type exactly as in the OP picture ( which I just noticed was posted 8 years ago) :p

Right, Office Outlet visit should happen later today, anyone want to know anything in particular?

Kind regards,

Your friendly undercover chair investigative journalist.

My chair that was basically a leather version of the Kashmir went to chair heaven recently. Chair heaven being my general waste bin. I got a good 8-10 years out of it and in that time I had to replace the seat cushion with some decent rebound seat foam as the seat cushion had compressed a fair bit over the years.

Replaced it with a second hand Herman miller mirra ergonomic chair and tbh I wish I had done it years ago. As comfy as these office chairs are, they really aren't good for your back. I found i'd always end up slouched down in the chair and have to force myself to keep sitting up and ended up with back pain. The first week of having the Mirra it felt really uncomfortable on my back as the chair back is plastic and not cushioned, but after a week or so it feels amazingly comfortable. Like, I can't even understand why as its plastic, but it feels like a cushioned back. The adjustable lumbar support on the mirra seems to give much better support and it stops you slouching down. Also the adjustable arms make a huge difference to my wrist comfort when typing or gaming. I don't think i'd ever go back to a basic office type chair now after trying something adjustable and ergonomic.

So, popped into Office Outlet on my way home to check this out.

HALF PRICE.

Yes that's right, HALF PRICE!

Wasn't planning on buying one but had a sit down and have to say its extremely comfortable at first glance and at £99.99 I had to get it (See last image for my previous chair!)

So, got it home and built it. Build quality, as expected is probably only a 6/10. Some of the bolts have a hard time threading into the holes in the side of the base and back, but was built in 30 minutes.

Sitting on it now and ready for an evening of PUBG, so will report back!

Old vs New

Ha! I came on to report the exact same thing.
I’m pretty sure this is the same chair. But it certainly has the combination of a secondary base cushion and the micro fibre finish which are the secret of how comfortable the Kashmir was.
And as reported above, it’s half price until Monday.

As for the point about ergonomic chairs, I’d agree 100% if I was always sat properly at my computer, but half the time I’m reclining or side on watching the tv too. So for me, a comfortable executive type is more suitable than an ergonomic one.

£99...wow. I still have the same chair from the op and at that price, I'm tempted to do a straight replacement as the seat is pretty thin now and I cbf reupholstering it etc.

Thinking about this now, also got a click and collect offer on the website save £20 on £100 spend. Add a pack of pens and brings it to £81 and 8% quidco if it tracks. Seems a bargain to me

Can't decide whether to replace my 7 year old Kashmir with one of these, or a noblechairs chair and I only have a very short time to decide!

You bugger, went this morning and the other one is £89.99.
I did my own upholstering on the arms twice but I also sit on a cushion so that's why mine isn't as bad as yours.
I also have a black towel over the back because of my head psoriasis so again not as worn in.

The annoying part about mine is that it's supposed to be a Christmas present, so I don't get to sit on it for nearly a month.

And my suggestion, when we arrived at the store to find it half price, that she needed to find me another £100 worth of gifts got short shrift too.
