Staples's 'Kashmir' Managers Chair

Yeah I could do to lose a stone, then I'd be what, 12 st? Poor attempt. Do you have difficulty sleeping btw?

I do indeed, I suffer with bouts of insomnia, some times it can be a lot worse. When I was younger it was very bad, so yeah name seemed apt, used it ever since I've gamed online :)

As for the chair, I'm treating myself to one for my birthday woo!

Stopped off at Staples after work and....

Kashmir: Very comfy and does seem to envelope you, but the high side bolsters clamped in at my lats a little bit too much and the colour is like a dark boudiour black/purple so a no no for me.

Darcy: Not a great fan, seemed quite upright almost making you slouch over.

Tiago: Pretty good actually, good back support, comfy enough and looks cracking. But I still found it a liittle too upright and the reclining mechanism is far too stiff so you have to keep pressure on the floor to keep yourself leaning back.

Conrad executive (like mrk's old one): Loved this chair, really comfy especially for those with broad shoulders/back and also looks stylish. Ordering tomorrow as it's £25 cheaper online.

I bought one today. AMAZING!

It's a bit 'sitty backy', in that if I want to lean in and be close to the screen it's not massively natural, but might be because I'm not used to it yet.

I put my desk on feet to raise it up, thereby allowing the arms of the chair to get under the desk. I found that allowed me to get close enough for typing comfort etc., whilst still being able to sit properly in the chair. Not sure how possible that would be for you.

Had the exact same chair (as the op) and it is falling apart after three years. Comfort wise it is okay, not great when you have been sitting there a while, mainly under the thighs. The bolts through the arms work loose no matter how kindly you treat it. I am only 12 stone so not a big bloke giving it a thrashing.

Now got myself a second hand (couldn't afford new) Herman Miller Aero simply fantastic

The four screws/bolts in the arm will work loose, you will tighten they will work loose and then they will do the exact same again before getting to a stage that the thread just gets ruined. I never used to place much force on the arms, lovely chair but not built to last.

I also found after several months it wasn't as comfy under the thigh area, I have a feeling it has to do with the posture you need to use due to the chunky arms not enabling you to get as close to the desk as you would like.

Got my conrad today, and so far it's kinda of eh. Maybe I had a weird posture with my other chair, but so far this chair is aggravating my lower back. Will try it out over the next week to see if I get used to it, but so far meh.

How high is the highest point on the arms of the kashmir? If they won't go under my desk, then dammit. That is definitely one advantage of the conrad.

I've had mine for 4 years and virtually live in it.
Be prepared for the bolts coming out of the arms, I've redrilled and put longer bolts in to hold them on but they are still loose.
I've also had to re-cover both arms twice.
The seat is all torn but I now sit on a cushion.

Can you take a quick tape measure from the floor to the top of the arms? :p

Erm I would focus on combating your perspiration problem first! While the leathery ones can be cleaned with a damp cloth, your sweaty balls will just seep through into the padding through the fibre.....ugh!

Haha :p. Plastic chairs and leather chairs I just get sweaty on for an unknown reason to me. Always have done and I think a cheap imitiation desk chair contributed to the severity of my pilonidal sinus when I was 15.

Here are some pics for anyone that's interested:

It really is, very comfy. Only downside is that it doesn't slide under my desk but I've just pulled the screens closer to the edge of the desk.

Constructing it was very easy, just a few bolts and screw caps.[/QUOTE]

Staples are, I got worried when there wasn't any bolts but their actually screwed to where their meant to be :D

Well I went to Staples. They are £200 each :o.
There were some very nice reduced (from over £200 to £160 ish) leather chairs.

I didn't buy the Kashmir one (or any other chair) but it certainly is comfy. It does hug your sides a bit which is wierd and I wouldn't exactly call it a high back chair.

mglover070588 - don't go by store prices. Staples are one of the few that still haven't managed to unify their online and bricks and mortar prices. That said, they've gone up a lot online too . Now £160 when people have paid £130 or less (which is much more like it tbh, even though it is awesome).

I haven't as yet had any loose bolts or worn fabric. Wife is breast feeding in it too as she loves the comfort. Any spillages have been easily cleaned. Stuggling to find any negatives to this chair apart from the now fairly high price.
