Star Trek Bridge Crew

Ok, just tried Star Trek Bridge crew for the first time tonight. FlukeRogi, Myself and 2 others attempted the same mission 3 times and a different mission once, but all four times the game suffered the warp jump bug. Basically, when you make a warp jump the ship stays in warp and you can't do anything. That sucked.

But, wow, the game is amazing. Even though it only worked for a few minutes, it really feels like you are on a space ship and part of something bigger. The social interaction is really good too. Had a great laugh while still trying to play it properly.

I really enjoyed it.

Good news, I am pretty sure my CPU is letting me have the extra effects without a fuss. Can't really tell if it's partial or full, but it's definitely better than default. Particle effects in the bridge, debris and gases externally. Happy.

Had anyone figured out the nuances of routing power from one system to the other? I can't tell if you can mitigate the increased load by moving the nodes about our whether those little bars that go up are just for show

Aye, Starfleet really need to redesign those warp engines ;)

Reading up on the Ubisoft forums, there does seem to be an accepted work-around for the bug - once the warp coils have charged, let helm engage warp, and then have no-one touch their consoles until the jump is complete. Quite a few people have posted that this has worked for them.

But yes, totally agree that you feel part of something bigger. There was a definite sense that I was experiencing something entirely new (and I'm glad nobody could see my massive cheesy grin as I was issuing orders from the captains chair!).

As mentioned on comms, I should be back on tonight around 9 (though I'll try and get there a bit earlier though this time) if you want to give it another shot.

haha, yes they do!!

If that works, that would be great and it probably means I was the one breaking the warp drive :p I was pushing buttons and trying to fire lasers and turn on shields while in warp :D

Won't make it tonight, damn it. Hope you guys will play again on Friday or over the weekend.

If anyone is around at 5pm this evening and is looking for a crew get in touch. I will be free to play for a couple of hours.
