Star Trek Online

Yeah the away missions are usually on ur own unless in a team which sucks a bit tho u get the loot. I did expect lots of others just messing about on all the planets but no. :(

It feels very single player to me i do everything on my own usually cept when mates in a team help out now and again but theres not much to do social wise in the game yet like mini games, drinking, chats in clubs or owt. Expected more social stuff in a mmo.

If its in the Lieutenant Cmdr slot ie 2nd one up, you need to go to the BO skills trainer and look at the Lieutenant Cmdr skills, not the ensign ones(scroll down) and click it there. Then replace what he has in that slot. Hope it helps.. if not ask me in game.

You need to promote the officer to Lt first. They need a couple of hundred skill points spending on them first but if you have maxed torpedo high yield that should be a problem. Do that in the officer status screen.

Then pop along to the officer trainer in Sol Starbase. Pick the skill Cannon: Rapid Fire and choose your newly promoted Lt. It replaces whatever his current Lt skill is.

Finally you need to assign him to the Lt Tactical station on your Escort. If he is asigned to the Ensign station he will only be able to use his ensign skill.

Attack Pattern Alpha isn't a Bridge Officer skill, it is one of your skills.

Thanks for this, all sorted now :)

Think I need to slow down a bit, there is no rush! I did a fantastic chain mission at lt.cmdr lvl where you travel back in time, but after the excitement of completing it and collecting my new cool gear I sat back in my chair and asked myself what was really going on and what was the point in what I had done. Tbh I don't really know because I didn't take the time to read the dialogue - I just powered through, which is a shame.

The customisation in the game is just amazing - he's a shot of some of the fleet I'm in from last night :

I quite like the ground combat, very intense, and special abilities make a real difference. I'm kind of glad it's all instanced for missions, I don't want to be hanging around because a dozen people are waiting for a boss to spawn, or have the immersion broken by a bunnyhopping borg.

I do wish there were a few 'open' ground locations though, city hubs or even starfleet academy.

Haven't started yet on the main game, will do in the next few days and play it for my free month and see where I go from there, might wait till summer and see what they've added in/are working on.

Liked the Beta, hopefully they've sorted a few things out in the last patches :)

The back to the furture mission I did along with 3 others from the fleet was just amazing. Fans of TOS will love it even more I imagine! Not going to spoil it though!!

I really need to buy some new parts for my PC after seeing that screenshot above, looks really nice compared to how mine looks :(

well the lt cmdr missions are 300-400 each so id say about 13ish missions say 20 min a mission would make it 4 hours of hard core gaming. It will go faster if you group, and that doesnt include skill points from kills.

If thats the guardian of forever mission, did that last night. Was amazingly cool and unexpected at how complex it was.

Just bought this off steam. Well not just, 3 hours ago. Still says Your purchase is still being processed when I go to install it.

Should have just gone to the shop for it

Been teasing myself watching videos over the past couple of weeks aswell and i'm dying to play it.
