Star Trek Online

From Voyager? I thought they just basically hijacked some kinda Borg transport system to get home and fired a few missles here and there.

No not from Voyager, from the huge battle between the alliance of the Federation, Romulans, Cardassians, Klingons, Ferengi and Tamarians and the Borg who had over 7000 borg cubes at the battle of the Azure Nebula. A race called the Caeliar pretty much obliterated every borg there. Its part of the Star Trek canon which continues the official story after the TV shows in the official books.

One mo, I'll see if I can pull the info from the official Star Trek timeframe and paste it...

The Final Battle (2381)

In 2381, the Borg discovered a subspace tunnel in the Delta Quadrant that led directly to the Azure Nebula. The Collective used this tunnel to send an invasion force into the Alpha and Beta Quadrants with the goal of eradicating humanity and any other races that stood between the Borg and total galactic domination.

Initial incursions were defended by the USS Excalibur and the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, these were minor skirmishes compared to what was to come. Anticipating a larger Borg invasion, Captain Picard asked that the Federation send as many ships as possible to the subspace terminus in the Azure Nebula. President Bacco negotiated for reinforcements from the Klingon Empire, Romulan Star Empire and Imperial Romulan State, Cardassian Union, Ferengi Alliance, the Tamarian Empire, and (through the Ferengi), Breen mercenary forces.

Before the allied forces could traverse the subspace passage and make their own assault, a force of over 7461 Borg Cubes attacked and destroyed the allied fleet that had assembled. Although the Federation was initially able to defend against the Borg attacks into Federation space using transphasic torpedoes, the Borg eventually adapted to the torpedo. However, the Federation starships USS Enterprise-E, USS Aventine and USS Titan, managed to convince the extremely powerful Caeliar to dissolve the Borg Collective and halt the invasion.

As a result of this, all of the former drones were absorbed into the Caeliar gestalt, the residual implants in Seven of Nine disappeared and the remnants of Locutus in Jean-Luc Picard were removed from his psyche. During the conflict, Borg Cubes decimated entire worlds, including Acamar III, Deneva, Qo'noS and Khitomer. The invasion attempt cost of 63 billion deaths and the fallout led to drastic changes in the political nature of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, including an expansion of the Khitomer Accords and the formation of the Typhon Pact.

Aye, although I really really really hope they don't make the same mistake that everyone else tends to do and just releases new content without fixing the older stuff. For instance I'm hoping that they add way more PvE content for Klingons.

I don't think they will. Based on the number of changes between each testing session, they seem to have the capability to make A LOT happen. Plus, Cryptic would never hear the end of it on the forums. I too hope they add more PvE content for the Klingons. I really enjoyed the brief time I spent playing them.

Just pre ordered steam digital deluxe edition :)

Hope it means I can get in the beta tonight!

Not sure what I have to do now lol.

Ngh I wish you could pick which things you wanted with your Star Trek Online version, some of the Steam offers look fancy but the price is crazy, but I wanted one of those Borg bridge officers which aren't included in that version but are from Amazon for half the price.

Gah, I just read the NX prefix on the D2D order is good. What exactly does that do?

Instead of your ship being "NCC SERIALNO" it'll be "NX SERIALNO". NX prefix for the ships serial number was used for prototype ships if I'm not mistaken, such as the Defiant from DS9. You get the NX prefix with the Steam version by the way. The only different between Steam and D2D is one is £5 cheaper, and Steam gives you some fancy armor and D2D allows you to be a special version of the Trill race (you can still be the Trill race anyway, just D2D's version of the race has extra passive bonuses).

A right so its just a visual thing rather than a stat thing? Cool thanks mate, not too fussed about that tbh lol.
