They use left and right? Thats weird, sure i watched a video where it said Aft shields failing. Why bother using fore and aft if you then use left and right? Would be better to just use front, back, left and right.

Mind you going Klingon might be even worse! Klingon Star Trek fans are amongst the most passionate of all fans. You might find yourself being berated in chat for not speaking Klingon or spelling the words wrongly
Aye well, there'll be less of em. Not sure how being a 'Scotty' on vent will go down with Klingons though.
From everything ive read the Klingon side is at a huge disadvantage right now so will be slightly less populated at the start and will be increasingly so over the next while when people realize it.
perhaps because even to the nautically challenged fore and aft still make sense
i admit i havent been keeping up on videos where these have been mentioned, merely trawling all the spam on the official forums
Possibly i suppose, though our world and general knowledge must be a hell of a lot more dumbed down than i thought if we cant understand something as basic and straight forward as port and starboard. Particully if we can grasp fore and aft. As i say probably easier to use front and back as well as left and right just in case people dont know what aft is.

Well there is a lot more they could have done (and hopefully will post release), but it is much better than most of us were expecting - especially following Champions Online. The best thing you can do is to try it out with an open mind and see if you enjoy it.

I was hesitating on buying this on pre-order but with nothing else interesting me until SW: TOR comes out I thought I'd give it a go, so I pre-ordered on Steam. It'll probably keep me playing for a few weeks to get my moneys worth anyway.
