Star Trek Online

How does one go about joining the OcUK fleet on there? :)

Drop your user@handle either here, or ingame to anon-e-mouse@anon-e-mouse

Where is the Foundry?

Click on Hail Starfleet, then click on Available, if you are high enough rank there should be a mission available called "Investigate User Reports" (this might be the wrong name, I'm at work @ the mo so my memory might be flakey)...

Take the mission.. And then click on Community Authored on the left, pick 3 missions.. (quick ones are "broken console" or ESD)

and should i be doing events or be following the quests?

Both :D The quests will level with you.. so you can do them regardless of whatever level you are.

I'm pretty sure Foundry missions are only available to gold players. I'm sure that's what the game told me the other night.

The foundry daily mission i.e do 3 for some dilithium reward. Found that the Distress Call missions from The Grand Nagus are quick and simple to do if that helps anyone wondering which to do to get the foundry mission done quickly. There is 4 i think Distress Call missions from him and all are basically the same and are in Wolf 359 so dont have to move between all 3 missions if you dont want to.

Foundry missions can be created btw but you need to buy slots when being a silver member. And playing them is of course free to silver memebers.

Tried out a trial of the game shortly after release, but was also playing WoW at the time and couldn't get into it, so I'm downloading it again now. Seems to be maxing out my 10Mb connection, 50 mins left on the download, so not too bad. Hate the pando media booster though :(

Thanks, cant wait to give it a try again played it during beta and the space combat was pretty fun, although iirc the ground combat needed quite a bit of work.

It's probably about the same as it was.. although with the ground skill changes, which forces people to spec at least partially into ground skills may help.. The thing with ground combat though is mechanics... I HATE/DETEST artifical mechanics.. (LoTRO had lots of these.. NPC's who were immune if they were standing on certain coloured squares, or built up lots of debuff's if they remained stationary, etc)

If you ask most players they'll say they enjoy space combat better.. Now if only I could persuade the borg to stop fugging tractor beaming me every 15 seconds, or giving me Plasma Fire every 10..

Installed the game is roughly 10gb or so.

By default it uses an on demand download option so it only downloads a map/zone as you first enter it and such.
