Enjoying it so far, still only got the first ship as I'm only lv6. Do new ships cost energy points or something else? I know I can't get a new ship til I increase in rank but it would be good to know what to save up with.
Anyone know how the Bind-On Equips work? I have some shields I got as a reward from a mission worth about 7500 in sell value. I gather if they are used, they perminately attatched to the ship, but are they in addition to standard equip shields?
mmm, not from where I'm sitting I got level 11 a couple of days ago and had enough to buy the other two ships and have 14,000 credits spare. It's mainly due to Starbase 24, it's just credit city.You get one for free and you can buy the others. Though they have reduced considerably how much you loot you get so you can't just buy the other two at level 11!

This is really amazing! We have hit the limit of how many players we can fit on the server right now!
This is one of those times where we're both sad, and glad. On the one side, you all enjoy the game so much, we can't squeeze anyone else on to the server. (I can't log in right now either! )
On the other side, we really want to let you all on the server! So, here's what we're working on:
1) We're increasing server capacity. We have new machines coming in to add to the server, and we've put a rush order on them. We're going to bring them online as soon as we can.
2) We're working on software solutions as well. Our development team is working night and day to be able to get as much power as we can from each machine, and we're focusing on increasing capacity, and server stability.
For now, all we can say is, please keep trying. We know it's frustrating. Please keep trying though. You never know when you might be able to get in!
I bought both other ships at lvl 11, had 3 quantum torps drops, sold 2 @ 20K each, 15K for a blue dual disruptor cannon II, 15k for a blue Mk III rifle and grey Mk III rifle
Really really like the cruiser though. Shield polarity is great, can't wait for the T3+ ships.
I was online earlier, but yeah atm I get a "Server Busy" message.
From what i can see, science vessel at lt cmd is better than the escort ( engi default) as the science vessel allows 2 lt Bridge officers were as the escort only allows 1 but can have 2 engi BO. Also the shields seem far weaker.
Starbase 24, just do that a few times, get some nice experience and some loot. Hopefully you'll get some nice drops that vendor for 7.5k+Cavallino said:How the hell you get cash in this game lol.
They are different playstyles really, Escort DPS is way higher than the Science vessels, but the Science vessel has more shields. I found with the Escort you need to get out of Miranda habits - ie. full impulsing into combat and constantly having your power management set to "Attack". Also the Science Vessel only gets 1 Lt. at Lt. Commander level, which is a Science Lt., the rest are Ensign level.
I can see where you're coming from though as the Miranda to Science vessel is a much more leveled transition in playstyle than going from a Miranda to an Escort or Cruiser.
Starbase 24, just do that a few times, get some nice experience and some loot. Hopefully you'll get some nice drops that vendor for 7.5k+
