Well it was a pretty dreadful episode.
The show actually started off okay but the problems started once they ran out of the homages to the ST IV movie and needed to think where it's going next. We have had three episodes now in which not much has happened to push the story forward. As stated above, pretty obvious this is now going to roll over into S3 which judging how befuddled and confused Patrick Stewart is looking (no disrespect as he has done great things, first spotted in Excalibur in 1981), they had better get on with quickly.
I mean we had 7 seasons of TNG and several movies which, other than Picard's brother, gave no indication of a troubled childhood much less walking in and finding his mother had topped herself in the conservatory.

Finale was a little predictable, been expecting it since episode 2
Had some feels with the TNG cast and the cameo was a little unexpected but other than that it was a little bit 'dull' like the rest of the series

Cameo might explain why Wheaton isn't in season 3 unlike pretty much everyone else and it does raise a minor question though, how exactly does the travellers being the 'leaders' of the watchers work... watchers can't 'officially' interact yet the tng traveler was all 'I'll help Wesley when he's in trouble'

While it was predictable and really could've done without 90% of the pointless filler between this and episode 1, it wasn't a terrible finale, I guess.
