Star Trek: Picard

My initial thoughts.
So everyone on Earth are now Nazis, even the non white males. They stumble from one plot convenience/contrivance to the next. This episode was yet another example of very bad writing and Kurtzman's Trek is back to form. Oh and the elf is back. I doubt I'll be watching any more Puke hard.

How is that bad writing? Honestly Trek has done this type of thing before. Mirror universe or turning a race full on evil and xenophobic

It was a good episode and is leading to some hopefully cool episodes.

If everybody had that POV, amazon would pull funding entirely and the series would be finished and the same would go for Disco. If nobody watched it on netflix then it would have never got to season 4. LEt's not pretend it's making paramount any money without netflix's contribution.

Just my personal view. I pay for it therefore acceptable in my world. Sure there is an argument about viewers meaning shows don’t get cancelled but it’ll be views on Paramount+ in the US that decide this shows fate, not international viewers on Prime.

Picard would have never been made without an international audience. I think you're downplaying the importance of viewing figures outside the US somewhat. Regardless, i dont care if people do or dont, i just can't take some of these excuses seriously.

No more piracy talk please guys, you know the rules.

Even talking about how it is/isn’t morally ok because you subscribe to prime etc won’t be tolerated any more.

Well if that's the case I can only presume you go about online with selective blinders on as Google YouTube etc all spaff their load with regards to articles and videos about what happened in the newest episode. That's not even open for debate, it's fact yet somehow you seemingly don't see it.

No links or requests for "warez"
Providing or asking for information regarding "warez", "gamez" or any other software protected by copyright is forbidden. This includes discussion of 'chipped' or modified games consoles.

It's always been understood that that means dont ask for links and don't provide links, i dont think we've ever been told we can't discuss the moralities of it? If you don't want us to, fine. But maybe the rules need updaing then? Don't shoot the messenger.

Piracy talk in any guise has always been forbidden. In my experience any talk leads the discussion off topic and quickly escalates (as witnessed by the last 20 posts or so).

Regardless, if you want to discuss moderation do it in FCD.

Denial mode activate!!!
I'm not the one who doesn't have the capacity to wait a single day for the 6th best Star TRek show to air in the UK, stop it

I'm not discussing your moderation, i'm suggesting the rule be updated to reflect what you've just told us. Discussion moderation is pointless on this forum.

I'm not the one who doesn't have the capacity to wait a single day, stop it.

But you are the one that somehow doesn't see articles and videos talking about plot points, who lived, who died, who returned etc etc mere hours after the latest ep has aired in the u.s.More often than not the headline is enough to give something away.

Anyway, regardless of all this the people discussing episode 2 yesterday were still doing so in the wrong thread. There's a thread in the US forum for a reason, just use it.

No, i just don't read them. It's really not difficult at all. This isnt Game of Thrones mate, half the planet isn't talking about Picard.

If you have a history of looking up star trek on YouTube or Google it'll bring up articles and videos on that topic. And that's all it takes to see something you didn't want to as there will be reviews and talking points for the latest episode, often with massive hints or outright spoilers in the title, or accompanying image.

So to counteract that I watch it "early" so I don't have to actively avoid sites or YouTube.

Who the hell made you the forum police?
Look, people are whining about spoilers and 'using a vpn' to watch Picard a day early to avoid them so the least we could all do is post in the correct thread to avoid spoiling it for anybody else, no? Not really very hard is it? That's why the US thread was created. You know, the one you whined about.

Why was my post moved and why was I accused of doing something illegal?

I mean, it told you right there in the alert why your post was moved :o:p
