Star Trek: Section 31

It wouldn't be ST on OcUK without a JRS breakdown, love it :D.

Honestly, I got to that moment 17 minutes in when Georgiou declared how boring she found the current situation and decided that I'd made the right choice not going full MST3K with it and doing a running commentary. There just isn't enough there to work with. 100 minutes of noise with not a single truly original idea.

Garbage!

Star Trek opening credits, but no ST horns/theme etc, although heavily influenced.

Positive start to the background of Georgiou, but then nose dives off a cliff from then on.

Current time: Mission Impossible start.

A robot Irish Vulcan - cringe.

Mech comic relief dude - cringe.

Mission Impossible ending setting up a possible sequel (please God no). It might as well have ended, your mission, should you choose to accept it, then dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.....................

I can now see why this didn't get the cinema release.

Disappointing as a Section 31 spin off could have been great - but this was the Mission Impossible in space and as good as that sounds - it wasn't, at all.

I am guessing Paramount is just cashes the cheque from Bad Robot/Secret Hideout and don't care about the quality of their works.

I can't think of any other reason this type of trek keeps getting made, I am scratching my head on how they made money on this stuff.

It should win a Razzie just for the script and nauseating editing alone. I can't believe this group could run a scout group let alone a supposed black ops team with their less than one dimensional clichéd character traits. Within minutes my wife was among, are you sure this is ST and not some weird version of Star Wars.

I need to find the budget for this film to have a morning laugh on the way to work (back to the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special.).

This thread has saved me time. For those looking for what ST, SW and DW should have evolved into and a desire for good villains, futuristic tech and violence, I can think of no better recommendation than Wallace and Gromit, Murder most Fowl.

Yeah it was trash. Obviously the pilot for a new show that was looking terrible so they ditched it and put it out as a movie to pull a bit of money back. Ah well.

Is anyone else watching this thinking this is the 3rd kelvin film rehashed and all references to starfleet removed?

I'm not sure which has more references to a character "becoming captain", the first kelvin film or this one.

This made Borderlands look like a masterpiece.
