**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

Got a few more games last night I'm pleased to say, I was expecting an attack the Death Star by flying down the trench a la the first film, did I imagine that bit? (Hope not, this is the Star Wars nirvana I'm looking for! :o )

No, the game is in 3 stages; attacking/defending a star destroyer - if/when the star destroyer is blew up then you enter the death star to rescue/stop the rescue of R2 - if R2 is rescued by the Rebels then the 3rd stage is the Rebels trying to fly in to the trenches to blow up the death star. You have to be selected to do the trench run though - I have never been selected up to now - well apart for once when there was less then a minute of the game remaining...

Ahh, I'm yet to be on the winning rebel team to get to the trench but, no worries, I'm just pleased it's there to aim for although a bit sad it seems somewhat time limited.

I'll give it another bash later, cheers. :)

I've been selected for the trench run a few times but have no idea what to do or where to go when I'm 'given the ball'!

As much as I love the Death Star i have gone back to vanilla maps as I love droid run :D

To be honest I dont know how they can make it any better and in my opinion its going to be like a FIFA refresh or hopefully fix everything wrong with Battlefront. Its already meant to be using the same engine as Battlefield 1 now so I cant see it being a new engine. Probably just turn on DX12.

I dont see why they cant just do that with the existing one but then again they wont get any money for doing it.

There is so much they can do to improve upon the first one i.e. actually make it more like a large scale BF game than a casual run in gun COD clone. I would be more than happy for a reskin of bf 4!

Given how successful BF 1 has been though, I think even more so than battlefront? I will not be surprised in the slightest if we just see a reskin of bf 1 with a few more casual mechanics thrown in.

Don't forget guys all the dlcs are free to try this weekend , just tried the Death Star one and was pretty good. Even got to do the trench run.

Worth a sniff !

Worth picking up for £9.99? I played the beta on ps4, and I liked the aesthetics but didn't think the gameplay was worthy of £39.99 or whatever.
I imagine it looks and plays really nice on PC though.

My honest opinion, no.

You're much better off buying BF1 or Titanfall 2 if you want a fun MP experience.

I paid £80 including the season pass. That's about 50p an hour :D

I personally think its a fun game, had it on trial on pc and owned it when I had a ps4, its not a deep game but looks amazing and is great fun especially if your a star wars fan, I'm not sure if its dead on pc now though?

I found it just as much fun as battlefield 1

It was a very shallow game, albeit stunningly pretty and excellently Star Warsy - I actually just redownloaded it as my nieces are over for the weekend and they loved it. I'll be on over the weekend.

I love the fact that, even on release it was a good looking game without massive performance issues - unlike seemingly every other new release these days.
