**** Star Wars: Battlefront ****

I love being shown peoples anime and cropped porn avatars at the end of the match, really adds to the immersion :D Also there seems to be a lot of banning going on, guessing there's already hacks out (carried over from BF?) Guess people just make spam accounts since it's a free open beta.

There's some stuttered between showing scores and the beginning of a new match. Trying to be seamless, but it is fairly obvious unfortunately.

The overall presentation is fantastic. Clean n' coherent UI. Accurate and detailed models and environments. Sound design is top notch. Effects and overall graphics aren't too exaggerated, but there's plenty of particle effects :p

...but the game-play is so basic. I find it actually worrying that some players have no idea what the objective is and just run around doing nothing worthwhile. This is exactly what I was expecting, still probably gonna sell a bucket load 'cause muh Star Wars.

Is there a way to join with friends yet? This wasn't possible in the alpha and was of the features I hoped they would fix

Is that a serious post? As more people are playing the gremlins are coming out from Frostbite. Where is something as simple as a ping bar?

If they put a ping bar in then people not playing in europe or the US would realise how bad the server provision is (Unless they do the BF4 console trick of everything under 200ms is 4/5)
 
Managed to finally get in a Tie Fighter and AT ST lasted about 30 seconds.
Just a comment from people saying it takes a lot of shots to kill people dont forget if you don't hit the person completely the energy regenerates back to full.
Also managed to get Luke Skywalker twice and end the Jedi !
 
This game feels great. I can't remember the last DICE game that I actually enjoyed, maybe BF2142. It feels very smooth and I love the 3rd person camera.

We've tried partying up but it still splits up the group with 1 or 2 left behind and forced to play on the opposite side.

Everything else about the game is great but I can't justify paying 35 quid for a game where I can't even play with my friends...

It's only a beta. BF4 was the same on beta. Freinds wouldn't work at all, but on full release it worked fine.

I'm sure you will be able to play with friends in the full game.

I also wonder how many people are slipping through their anti cheat system. I've noticed in nearly every game someone is getting caught, but as you know from BF there are many who do not.

No server browser/dedi servers is going to kill this game very early in it's life.
