15mins + adds, trailer. Anything else they can fit in! :)

Just seen TFA as a double feature so only 2 dozen people in a 286 screen theatre all the other screens appear to be packed

Waiting for the film too on my own.

I got in the screen before most people and my seats were next to the only other two people currently in the screen; que awkward moment of me explain that I’m nognjeijv too close.

For me the OT, particularly Empire and Jedi have moments when the dialogue, delivery, sound effects and music just came together to give us perfect scenes and the new films have lacked that so far. There are so many little bits like when they are trying to get to the falcon on Hoth and then it doesn’t start, the bit when they are getting to the falcon on cloud city and R2 opens the door, the Yoda scenes are full of emotion, the throne room with the emperor in Jedi. You can just go on and on.

On force awakens when they leave Jakku on the falcon and they are doing silly stunts and the falcon engine noise doesn’t sound quite as powerful as it did on Empire just left me cold. It could have been such an awesome scene and it wasn’t.

It’s the same for me with Wrath of Khan, so many great scenes that Into Darkness just didn’t have. The emotion when Spock was dying was just great and the end when Kirk is reflecting on life and his friend, you just don’t get that level anymore.
Personally while I consider TFA to be a reboot/remake of ANH, Into Darkness is a total parody of Wrath of Khan.

TFA isn't unique and I didn't particularly enjoy it, but Into Darkness aside from one or two set pieces is a pure joke and has none of the emotional sensitivity and impact of WoK. :(

Didn’t particularly enjoy it. Feels like they’ve thrown out most of what TFA built. Luke / Snoke / Finn are poorly used. Phasma once again pointless.

Also the fight choreography seemed pretty slow and naff, which was surprising.

If I were to describe it in one sentence it would be "plot hole service". In similar way to "fan service". It tries to patch so many plot holes from the first outing, it overwhelms with the amount of needle work. Also, once you sit down for a coffee, you'll realise it's TESB in reverse. It's TESB by Tarantino. :D

Well I’m not quite sure what I thought

Seeing Tfa at the cinema in imax really made me like the film a lot more than I thought I did I did the double viewing

The last Jedi was a bit strung out, lost it’s way in he middle with some bits and had a decent ish ending

I don’t know I just found it was a bit hmmm or a bit meh with some weird parts

Definitely going to be a marmite film I think.

Not so much spoilers, but...

You will either praise/applaud Johnson for giving TLJ the fresh spin that was needed after TFA, and now leaves the direction of Episode IX (and the Star Wars franchise as a whole) up in the air,

or

think that he’s taken it too far away from what made Star Wars, Star Wars.

I thought it was fantastic myself. Plenty of mouth open moments and laughs. But I will need another viewing I think to truly process it all.

:(:(:(:(

From mostly serious sci-fi, to utterly cheesy, completely ridiculous, generic superhero sort of film that would sit nicely alongside others like Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

I enjoyed it a bit for what it is, but it just didn't feel like Star Wars anymore.

Going to watch it again next week with the other half, but I'm going to think for a bit before putting some comments down.

Although having said that...

Umm... Adrian Edmondson?!
On screen without a single knob gag or saying the words Utter *cough*Brass Stud*cough*
Who knew it was possible!

The usage of “s.punk” was a bit cringeworthy. Surely they could have thought of a better description for such a character to say. lol (eurgh, can’t even write the word on here without it being starred)

It was all right. I need time to think on it to draw a full opinion.

I think as a few mentioned something about it felt weird, can’t quite put my finger on what it was.

It’s not a spoiler to say they are trying to move the franchise away from the old to be its “own” thing but it felt they were overpushing that point.

I’ll hang fire on spoiler discussions for a few days until More have seen it.
