Steam Summer Sale 2018

As mentioned, it'll accept both wired and wireless connections. Out of the box you can't configure a static IP on ethernet (if required) but a firmware update over the internet will add that functionality. The whole thing was very easy to set up, it'll automatically detect Steam running on your PC.

It's a great bit of kit and an absolute bargain at the current sale price.

Echo the comments about mirroring the Windows desktop, that was an added bonus. I've only used an Xbox360 controller but it looks like it'll also accept keyboard/mouse and steering wheels too.

The only gripe I have is that there's no digital audio output, but that's not an issue if you have a receiver/soundbar with HDMI in.

Bought bugger all me, im still debating wether to get Dishonored 2, just i remember performance problems after release (which will surley be sorted by now though ?), and the Denuvo crap putting me off.

Do you have Prey? Theres a bundle for Prey and Dishonored 2 for £20 which seems a good deal.

Likewise but nothing in my wishlist is really discounted by much. Plus recently I've gotten addicted to PlaystationVR so haven't had time to play anything else!

Yes it’s connected via Ethernet (has WiFi but performance isn’t as good). Not only can you control Steam through it, but you can minimise Steam and control the entire PC, like a mirrored desktop.

It really is excellent for the money. I would recommend both your pc and the link are connected via Ethernet. I don’t notice any lag and the quality is great. Better than running an HDMI cable too as you don’t need to keep adjusting the resolution if the TV differs from your monitor.
Wifi performance is plain bad here. First thing I did was mirror my desktop and just play a YouTube video.

Stutter, stutter, stutter. Just unwatchable. This was on "medium quality streaming", not even the "high quality".

So now I have to cable the entire downstairs living room with Cat5. Oh well.

Damn this sucks. House is too big to ethernet everywhere so I'm stuffed. Oh well, it was under a tenner. I waste that on a burger.

Try a power link adapter, I use one.

It uses your house electricity to send the signals to another point in the house works well for me.

Got the following this steam sale :-

Portal 2 : £1.54
Mount and Blade : Warband : £3.74
Tom Clancys the Divison : £8.39
Steam Link :£9.40
Deus EX :£1.94
Just Cause 3 : £2.69
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes : £3.39

Second the powerline adapter suggestion, use them with my steam link and have no problems :)

As far as the steam sale, I still haven't bought anything yet, need a few DLCs for borderlands 2 and just looking through my wishlist, these seem some good reductions;

undertale
fez
lifeless planet
overlord

doom is also a maybe, only 50% off so going to keep an eye on key sites for prices

Is power line not an option? I've not tried the Link over wireless as I cabled it when I moved in. Absolute godsend having multiple ethernet points in all the rooms.

Edit... Beaten... Badly :D

I had the same issue. I ended up using a CAT6 Ethernet cable. Much quicker. Now getting about 221mbps

This was the ONLY thing that worked for me with steam link. WiFi, nope. Powerline, nope.

Also remember, if you have the steam link app on an appropriate device it is free.

first sale on steam in long time I've bought nowt

Least I have bought. Only shadow of war.

Running ethernet cable is super, super easy.

I’ve used some existing cat5 from the phone line to get to certain areas, and where you can’t get behind a wall D-line trunking is your friend.

I can't decide between:

Prey
Shadow Of War
Wolfenstein 2
The Long Dark

Also if I did go for Shadow of War is it worth buying the silver or gold edition over the standard game? I am leaning toward this game as I want something I can plough some time into and I remember the first game keeping me entertained for a while.
