Steam Summer Sale 2018

That sounds great. Does it work with a flight stick do you think or not that type of game?

I’ve read up and a recent update added HOTAS support. However the developers have stated they did so because the fans were vocal about it, and they still recommend mouse and keyboard for the best experience. K&M certainly feels very slick. You can barrel roll, descend and invert your ship super quick for an instant turnaround to blast pursuing enemies etc.

Part of the beauty of mouse is that whilst moving the cursor does adjust trajectory, it also gives you great accuracy; I’m not sure if you’d lose that with joystick.

Also, at least with K&M, velocity is not persistent. I think it would slow down the feel of the game if using a throttle, especially with the starter ship as it’s rather nimble.

Hope that helps mate, it’s a superb rogue lite in space with great graphics and an addicting I’ve “one more run” style. It’s early days but a 9/10 for me so far.

Yeh that's very helpful thanks.

I have read and seen enough now to pick it up, cheers :)

Looking for some suggestions for my partner. She mainly plays the Sims 4 and likes games like animal crossing and harvest moon.

Any thing worth looking at in the sale? She also enjoys the point/click hidden object games (not the walking dead style particularly)

Has a newer laptop on the way so she should be able to spread her gaming wings a bit more :D

I did consider something like planet coaster but I get a feeling that's a bit too in-depth but again I'm not too sure.

Started Valley is an obvious choice but she tried that before on my system and I think she wasn't overly keen on the controls and lack of direction

Would she go for something more story-driven, like Life is Strange?

This looks pretty good thanks! I'll see what she thinks :)

I have considered LiS in the past! I think she would love the story and characters but it's the controls that I think she may have issue with! Never been able to crack 3rd person movement with camera control, but I will suggest it. I think episode 1 is free usually! Thanks

Or a point and click, there’s a wealth of gems. Monkey Island remastered might be a good starting point.

A true classic, hadn't considered this style for her so will suggest it , thanks!

@kinger8938 has she ever tried Deponia series? If not and she's interested let me know.

I've not heard of These, I'll take a look and see what she thinks :D will get back to you ;) thanks

A question if anyone can enlighten me. I have Metro: Last Light (not played it yet) so I am wondering if the Metro: Last Light Redux is much different ?? Asking because the price for the bundle with both Last Light and 2033 is not that much difference then just buying 2033. :o

I'm not 100% sure but I think 2033 benefited the most from the redux. It added in systems from last light to make it feel more modern.

In general though I believe the redux versions run much better than the originals? Maybe better optimisation but again I can't really say for sure :(
Really must try last light again myself

Bought Just Cause 3 for some fun with explosions. Spent many hours with 2 so thought I'd pick it up for those times I just want some mindless violence.

40 mins in though, just not feeling it. It's pretty to look at all right, but feels a bit sluggish and not as slick as 2 (fired that up straight after to check for rose tints). Gotta love Steam refunds.

Got the division and to be honest I’m not that bothered with it really. I’m level 5 at the mo and done a few side missons to get some gear, but unless it really starts getting better with the main storyline, then it comes off as a rather poor alternative to Borderlands 2 and ghost recon. I’m really tempted to try and get a refund for it.
