Street Fighter 6 coming with "immersive" single player mode (2023)

Allo the original world warriors will look older in SF6 as its set the furthest along in the Street Fighter timeline an any other SF game to date. I think characters like Guile, Ryu and Chun will be in the 40s. Some trailers have already shown classic Chun, Ken, Guile and Ryu costumes though its remains unknown whether they are unlockable or locked behind a paywall. I like to think you'll be able to unlock stuff through World Tour, like the good old days. Play the game and unlock stuff. Maybe I'm dreaming :p

Probably dreaming I'm afraid. Hope not though.

I pre-ordered earlier from CD-Keys. Wanted closer to £30, but oh well. At least it has most the characters I like in it from the start this time.

I didn't jump to 5, so tried this out just now, and getting pasted by Ryu Level 8 (getting around 50/50 vs Level 7, 6 and below are a cake walk). Too much has changed from 4 that I'm going to need to learn anew. But Demo makes that hard at the moment with no easy way to train.

Nice visuals, don't terribly mind it, but some of the attacks look "wrong" physics wise; the Hurricane Kick back in 4 (and 5 too I believe when I looked at some vids) looked "approrpriate". In 6 here, Ryu looks like he belongs in a Final Fight game with the way it's being done.

Will keep eye on this. :)

You do know Street Fighter is also fictional and make believe right? I mean like hadoken...

Just messin :p

Level 8 is impossible even Mike Ross and Xiang can’t do it

I’m yet to propperly play it on stick, if I feel I can combo like in 4 I’ll get it on PC

Well, Level 8 isn't impossible, even I've begun to work my way into the ways of tackling the AI and have a much greater chance of dealing with them now than before; Level 7 is now a cake walk. Primarily it's just taking advantage of the AI, it's stupid vs a waiting Parry and will let time run out that way as it tries to bait you to move or do something else to expose yourself that it can read and then immediately react to with a long chain combo. And simply wait for the AI to perform an attack (heavy usually) that leaves them open for a throw or quick hit. Then get away and continue to parry until either time runs out or you take them down. Never get greedy and the AI is very beatable.

Attempting to pre-empt the AI is pointless as it can read your inputs and not only that, react to them with appropriate chain combos that take 30-50% of your health away each time. There's a set pattern. If you don't deviate from the method to handle that pattern, Ryu Level 8, whilst not a cake walk, is certainly easy enough to get good win chances in. It's all about exploiting at Level 8, not about skill.

As for the Combos' I'm not sure if it's my 360 controller, or something else, but all the combo's are "sticky" and off, throws don't register unless if I "wait" until the avatar basically goes to "neutal" first before it can even register on Level 7/8. I have no idea if this is purely an advantage given to the AI at Level 7/8 or if it's something else causing the problem. Will continue to monitor this.

LOL, it gets even better. The Level 8 Ryu AI is so good that it'll be trying to bait you all the time and react faster than you ever could, so much so, that if you just hold Parry for the ENTIRE match, he'll just keep hitting you every so often to replenish your guage and keep your Parry up 100% whilst he's trying to bait you. Then, when they come in with that Drive Breaker, as you have Parry Up, you no show them, and can then do a heavy hit on them (I used a crouching Heavy Kick) and rinse and repeat. Doesn't work all the time, but it's enough to make Level 8 look easy. :D

You only win by Time Out (sometims if you're lucky you win via knockout when the AI tries to Drive Breaker many times) but a win is a win.

Also if you want to train the best way in the demo is to go to Practice and select character guides and choose the level 3 super option. That your opponent will have regenerating health and you will have all your resources so can keep Tring combos until you end one with your level 3.

If you want to ulitmate challenge try fighting level 8 cpu with all advantage stars added. Your ko'd in one combo!

Did not know about that way to train, as it's not very intuitive here I feel to have done it that way, but cool to know :). Also, the controller is not helping. I can barely get a Dragon Punch, or a Shin out properly, often giving me something very different instead. (I can tap left to move and end up jumping forwards/backwards, so that tells you how bad the controller is). Think I might wait and get a new controller first before I try again though.

Yeah the game will have training mode but this method is just a bit of a workaround to train in the demo as training mode is disabled.

I've been getting a lot more stuttering the last couple of sessions I've had. I've also tried lowering everything to either normal or below, but didn't seem to make much difference. It's pretty annoying when you're in the middle of a combo and then it stutters.

I've not had any stuttering at all. Runs perfect on my aging Vega56. Everything maxed at 1440p my gpu is only running at about 70% to maintain 60fps in fights.

There is an option in the graphics settings that compiles shades when the game load. It was off by default. Doesn't make difference for me as I didn't getting stutter without it selected but I've left it select ad it only take a couple of seconds to compile. May help you have stuttering.
