Students = Cheap windows 7

So does a copy of RC7100 count as a previous MS install or am I going to have to install my copy of XP pro on the HDD prior to installing? or use the trick posted previously?

Pretty sure you can install on top of the RC. Doesn't matter really if not anyway, just keep installing without a key and repeat...

My Download just finished, but:

I keep getting an error message when running Win7-P-Retail-en-us-x64.exe

"Unloading the box"
An Error was encountered
Unspecified Error.

Do I have to use their image or will any iso do as I have the Win7 key ?

Sounds like the download is currupt.. You need to run the exe. before you can create the iso. Might be worth re-downloading.

A little scroll around Flea bay will result in a genuine download copy of win 7 ultimate for £30
just got me a copy and will update from rc1 version to full once link and activation code arrive via email.

Wrong I'm afraid. See my post above. I tried to install on secure erased X25 from scratch, key didn't work as it would have on full retail. These student keys need to see a copy of windows (activated not required though it seems) to activate.

I installed it from the ghetto-built ISO on a brand new disk and it worked just fine.

I'm sorry.
You're telling me that on EBay there is a LEGAL download of Windows 7 Ultimate for £30?
Sorry, no - there is no such thing.
Certainly not something that just anybody can buy.

Congratulations - you've just purchased pirate software which makes you as legal as somebody who paid £0 for their Ultimate download.

Don't you think that if a £30 download of Ultimate was legal that everybody would be going for it?

Well im currently checking it with M$ and if i find out it's no a legal copy then i will have my money back and have him reported to both M$ and Ebay for piracy.
I dont do piracy and will be very angry if it turns out to be so, I'm just hoping it's one of those one off great deals you find from time to time on the bay and ive got myself a Genuine Legal copy of Win 7 Ultimate for very little mulla.
