Subnautica

I'm running a GTX 970 and the frames have been okay - But I can see as I progress through the game, it's going to get very choppy - As I go deeper and there's more going on it starts to stutter slightly :(

My 970 needs an upgrade anyway :p How are the GFX Card prices doing recently? :p

Expensive glad i got my gtx 1070 for £336 back in april last year.

Performance as it stands is a LOT better than it was. Last year I recall playing it towards the latter stage of the year and it was a stuttery mess...pretty much after the devs re-did the Cyclops. I play with a R9 290 and my 5.1ghz OC'd i7 2600k. Frame rates seem to get worse over time with Subnautica I've always found, reminds me Elder Scrolls titles like Obiobiboin and Skyrim.

Well I’m right addicted now :p Had to tear myself away before I accidentally spend all night on it :p

Biggest issue I have at the moment is storage - Only have some platforms for a base I’m making just below my pod. I hope the storage lockers you can make in the base are bigger than the floating lockers - Already have about 6 lockers floating below my pod :p :D

The storage lockers are much bigger and then there are even larger lockers too if you find the blueprint for them

This thread got me looking at GFX card prices for an upgrade anyway, I decided not to get a 1080ti because it was too expensive at £700 before....

LOL

ole 970 is going to have to keep coping a while longer then!

I’ve got radiation suit, all the tools and a sea glide.
Not sure how I go about building a base yet

You need to build a habitat builder using the fabricator in your lifepod. The habitat builder needs a battery (2 x acid mushroom and 1 x copper), a wiring kit (2 x silver ore), and a computer chip (1 x gold, copper wire (2 x copper), 2 x table coral sample). Once you've built the habitat builder, you can start constructing basic pieces using titanium. More advanced buildings (like the multipurpose room, which is a round room) need blueprints that you get from scanning either the full room, or fragments that you find in the world. There's a multipurpose room one that's pretty easily accessible right off the safe shallows, but it's quite deep down in the Jelly Shroom Caves (over 200m). Once you have a Seamoth, this makes it a bit easier :)

Omg, you sir are my hero!
What a difference.
Getting 140-150fps at 3440x1440 maxed out now, smooth as silk.

Ooo definitely going to have to try this tonight :D

Although updating my GFX Drivers helped a lot :p

Haha I am mid way through building a mini base, but have no rad suit or sea glide :p

After hearing people complaining about the prices I decided to have a look as they can't be that bad. :p Turns out they are, 1080's more expensive than when i bought in December 2016, by £50 as well!
