Not really dlc, more subnautica 2
Sweet, maybe a question a bit too early to ask but do we know if the game time length will be roughly the same or will be be shorter?

You play a different character from the first game and in this new game your character is actually voiced. You actually see the new lands (to an extent) in the original game but I'll stop right there on that mention.Just wondering, does anyone know what the DLC is going to about and does it continue from the original story?
On another note I've seen the lost river mentioned a few times here so one bit of advice - ping/pulse your cyclops shields (you do have those don't you!?!) once if you begin to notice your power draining fast as it'll be those leeches on the hull sapping your power.
That fast even with all 6 power cells at 100% before you start moving?
Is there a way to get the thermal reactor upgrade without going to the lost river ? As I understand to get the thermal reactor upgrade for cyclops you would need Kyanite, for which you need to go the lost river but with a prawn suit as most of them have to be mined.Battery chargers in the Cyclops are a very bad idea unless you have the thermal power upgrade and are parked somewhere hot.
Remember that both the Seamoth and the Prawn Suit recharge when docked with the Cyclops which is a considerable power drain if their batteries are flat when you dock them.
Using the Fabricator and Upgrade Station also drain the Cyclops batteries
I built a big locker in my Cyclops just in front of the decoy launcher and kept at least 4 fully charged power cells in there.
I am currently stocking up the cyclops with loads of power cells to make the trip and back if required. I read on one of the steam threads where the cyclops ran out of power and the prawn suit could not make it back so the chap was stuck in lost river.

You can get to the surface from the lost river with the sea glide if you have big tanks and a rebreather. Helps if you go the right way though, I've got that wrong before now.![]()
How did you get to the ILZ without the cyclops ? Seamoth cant get to 900+.I did it earlier so I could dump a Prawn suit down there to save taking it back and forth and then move a SeaMoth down - you need two tanks (about 200 seconds of air) to make it from about the middle of the lost river to the surface.
I've now finished the story side of the game but the last bit of gameplay I was pretty much just going through the motions to complete it for the sake of it - only built a Cyclops due to needing one of the upgrades at the end - never even used it.

Ah okay for some reason I thought Prawn depth upgrade also needed kyanite. Time to head back underUpgraded Prawn suit does 1700 - though I did a fair bit of it with it only upgraded to 1300 which was a bit hairy as it goes down to 1400-1500.
